Newbie Questions

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if you could tell me how to tell if a weapon/armor is better than the one you already have. I know that the thumbs up or down is a good indication, but sometimes they have minuses on them. Is it better to get an armor/weapon that gives good stats but has a minus on resistance/ has less attack?

Also, are there any DD "netiquettes" when playing with other people? I always play Private Matches so I don't know.

I'm new to Steam and don't really know anyone. So, I'm looking for people to play with. Let's add each other :D
