Looking for a City in the Cliffs build.
As the title says I'm looking for a build that will get me to wave 25. I previously got to wave 24 only to be mass orge'd to death. Is it broken or what? Seems way harder than it should be for a map of that level.

Any help appreciated.

Well if you got to wave 24 your build shouldnt be that bad tbh :P

Did you place some spiders? They do really increase the damage you deal to the ogres.
Besides that i suggest, you get either better stats on summ/monk, or bring in a decent barb for godlike dps to ogres ;)

OP, I had the same problem as you. I was trying to AFK the whole thing and I ended up losing at 24 forever ago.

Only thing I did was break out my monk DPS character (tower boost helps tons) for wave 24 and I breezed through. If you don't have a good DPS character, get a summoner out and keep using "Flash Heal" at weak zones while in the top-down skycamera view.

Like ShoX said, if you made it to 24 in the first place your build should be fine. Get your stats as high as you can (as in, finish upgrading your gear if you haven't already) just for a little extra confidence.

I know a fairly good build, but it's a tough one to explain, as it uses a couple build spots that have to be shown. The North West crystal doesn't need a whole lot build at it, but is an example of what I mean. There is a wooden box at the top, you can put a poon in front of it, and than one on top of it, they are almost in the same spot after. It's been ages so I'll try to explain it best I can without hopping into game to rebuild it.

North West, 3 aura stack, 3 poons, one in front of box and one on top, facing south, than place the third oppisite it facing north, connect with 6 DU buff beam. Place mage and 3 archers in front of the two stacked poons, and a gas trap in the middle.

East, On the top cliff over looking the Crystal, up the ramps, you can place three poons on top of each other, similiar to the box glitch, different elavations. Aim them so they cover both sides and the flyers comming for behind. 4du Buff on them. 3 aura stack, each ramp gets 5 archers on 4 du placed slighty down the ramp with a 1 du reflect in front. Both sides get two mages (not on the line as they die too easy, or did when I last played it.) Than a gas trap placed in the middle hooked on the top buff beam.

South West, 3 aura stack against the wall near south ramp, as to miss the door below as much as possible. 5 du buff beam from wall to just behind the big rock top of ramp, line with archers, I think 3 mages behind it on a 4du buff beam, reflect in front. gas trap/proxy traps on it, but more behind than in front. On the cliff side, close to middle, three poons, two facing ramp, one facing where copters come from, closer to the middle/north the better, for shooting down copters before they land.

Requires being a Summoner and flash healing and or repairing when needed, the east top reflect will go down fast, so keep an eye on it, stopping those projectiles cuts out a mass amount of damage. Tried to lay it out on DD Planner, hope it helps.

use a sumoner/monk with 5000-8000 tower dmg and you can chill the whole time ;)

Because everyone has a stable of those toons.


The DD Planner linked guide should work. I like to use harpoons on the south and east crystal. It all depends on hat stable of toons you have to build with.
@Egal Thats by far the best build ive seen for CitC. The only problem I'm having is the poons on the cliff are being killed by choppers. Theres something screwed up with the AI. They just stand there being killed by them. Frustrateing. Every wave without fail they go down in seconds to choppers. :(

Which set of poons? I never had that issue myself, and I had tried it a ton of times trying for the one acheivment. My builders weren't all that great at the time, 2.5k range. My issue was usally East side top ramp taking too much damage, think I had moved a mage over, so three on top, one on bottom. If it's the east your having an issue with, maybe they aren't in the right spot. If it's the South west spot, It should work against the wall instead of on the cliff edge, next to where the mages are.

Yeah its the south poons. Ill try them on the wall near the mages like you suggested.
I see what you mean about the South West, I moved the North West reflect down to help with that. Something has changed since I last played it, or rather a few a things.

Edit.1- I Moved an archer from East Bottom to the poons there, since I had an Ogre walk the long way round to it. Than moved that mage to fill the spot, since it doesn't get much action compared to the top.

Edit.2- Two more ogres walked around the long way, archers and summoner repair stopped it. Twice a Copter sat and bombed the East Top archers, also held till poons could focus on it with a little repair. Once everything was up'd, no more ogre/copters made it the South West back door. Currently on wave 27, I now remember why I haven't played this map in so long, it's a bloody pain in butt.

Edit.3- Cleared wave 30, only ever used Flash Heal once, just to say I've done it, NEVER AGAIN! Not worth it, drops are junk, and end rewards were Myth items and standard Giraffe.

@Egal Thanks heaps I finally had enough time to do it today and i cleared wave 25. You should make a guide out of it because its the best build I've seen by far.

Well theres a easy build at the Forum, easy to find with Google. Use it and you can farm this Map.
Not much point in farming it, when Aquanos or King's Game are so much easier and have way better drops. I was just curious if I could do it all the way now, and before that I only did it for the acheivment so I could get my jetpacking bounty hunter skin for the E.V.
Thank you so much Egal for those screenshots and comments. I've finally got to wave 26 but still on the 6th attempt. My stats were around 2-2.5k, Summoner 2.5-3k.

The main problems were copters on the south (I had to add two 1 DU reflection beams) and occasionally on the west because a few ogres attacked crystal instead of minions / harpoons. I had to place them southwest of the western crystal to aggro ogres more. I also added the 2nd gas trap and three 1 DU reflection beams to better catch enemies coming from northern entrance and stop them from attacking the western crystal.

I used DPS Monk on the 1st wave, then Jester to upgrade south, west and then east. Then I switched to Summoner for the rest of the game and repaired and Flash Healed a lot.

So it can be done with around 2.5k stats but I'd recommend 3k+. Achievement done, never doing that again. And I got a few useful items so I can upgrade my stats.
