Prices aren't just based on the pick up value, but also the rarity of the item, its stats and what its capable of being. most shops will price their gear based on these parameters

Now i have to ask , before you were kicked what was it that you were looking at and what were its stats/class

^ is right.

Plenty of drops worth much more than the value of mana entirely (Capping/Double Capping gear, Cubes, Diamonds, etc) may be only worth a few million to the Tavernkeep.

Case and point, Coal. The Tavernkeep says it is worth 100 mana but due to the difficulty in obtaining the coal on the Market you can sell them for around 8-12B because of the difficulty involved in obtaining them. Plus when you collect 88 Coal you obtain the strongest tower pet in the game.

You have discovered the biggest problem in this game. Tier based play. The first tier of the game is doing the story missions and leveling to 74 at which point mythics are unlocked. The second part is getting the ridiculously overpriced mythics which you will never get as drops because you will be kicked from any game set to where they drop if you don't have ridiculously overpriced mythics equipped already.

Welcome to Dungeon Defenders. And if you think it's bad now, wait until the sequel comes out.

I'll give you a hint, it's a MOBA.

^ i used to feel like that, when it hit the deadwater between being above 60 but not yet decked out in myths.
Story short: as help was not forthcoming, I toughned up, upgraded my godlies to the hilt and eventually punched a hole in NM deeper well and slowly began earning myths and used them to go deeper and eventually could move to a more rewarding map. Repeat ad nauseum.

Slowed down my playing these days to quite casual, but now I can easily get a map going that gives plenty of myths.
My 3 main builders are 83(+) but still wearing myths. Drops beyond that (=trans+) appear to be rare in the extreme, even when completing armory/throneroom NMHC surv or up to wave 16 aquanos. So, now getting past the myth era has become the new deadwater.

Oh and for the OP, yes, you are completely right, plenty of jerks selling crud at gold prices.
As 600M is not ez-pz until you have some NM surv on farm, you have to ask youself if the price (time to farm x mana) is worth the time saved by having the item immediately (or at all).

What i would advise you look for is 'affordable' tower myths for 2 builders. Maybe 10-50M per armor piece or roughly a budget of 80-400M. Then when you have 2 tower sets, begin breaking into NM.
They dont have to be great, even low-end myths are easily twice as good as the kind of godlies you can farm on insane hc survival of the classic maps.

prices are subject to the host. i shop around and look for the best peices possible. most people over price everything but you will always find a high lvl person who just needs fast mana posting awsome gear at decent prices. dont buy at the first shop you see.

Mana is indifferent for high-end players, as it's infinite. Mana just equals time, lots of time. The most valuable items, however, are the ones that spawn very rarely (like Ult or better armor) or are impossible to farm at all, like Cubes.
I can get 150 or more million for a single survival wave, but still everything that spawns is either useless or just for sale. So that one item in a run that is actually useful will be worth at least as much as all that mana earned during 2+ hours of survival.
SImiliarly, if I get one nice trans piece very wave, you can expect it to be priced around the total income of that wave. Or more, to make a profit :P

just some mail boots with equal to, or better tower stats than (not an already fully upgraded boot) that im already wearing..

i honestly dont care about what other stats it has, so long as its close to or better than
Tower Health - 158
Tower Speed - 242
Damage - 324
Hero Strength- 221

everything else on the boots i have are in the Negative and im doing ok so i don't really care if the boot im looking for has positive or negative stats.

i FOUND a boot to my liking, it was just a pair of mythic something mail boots, drop price at 10k. he priced it at 600mill. i asked him WTF? then kicked.

What happened was this, as someone said, mana quickly loses its value for endgame players, the thing just starts piling up and often you end up giving it away to make storage space.

Then some no life geeks landed into the game and saw this and decided it would be good to turn the game into a Tycoon kind of merchant sumulator and started coming up with all this really stupid echange rates.

Now you have people trading for "unique" pieces of geek bragging rights.jpgs.

@kirklandgamer - what sort of character are you looking for gear for? If I peak through my inventory I might have something I can just give to you (no promises - depends on what what, and what I've got in my inv for such a char)
DudeWTF!!! Aug 1, 2013 @ 8:46pm
^ its just a squire.. all i need is a boot and as long as it has equal or better stats than what i posted, ill buy it.

EDIT: i actually just finally found a pair thats like maybe 10 variable stats below what i already have.. for 30mill.. im content now.

honestly anything priced 600mil better be already max up if myth or mind-blowing trans. These people are ripping you off. Got to shops like Upturned Thumb for real good deals. Most expensive trans (even double capped) is 100mil and I can vouch for sure he's completely legit. Ntm with the LA being spammed it takes about 15 minutes to assemble a fully capped set of myth gear. Just ask someone with a dec DPS char to run with you sometime. The stuff you don't use will net you 600mil after each set of runs. Long story short, people are greedy and you just have to find some honest good people to play with/shop from.
