This game crashes all the time; do not purchase it

You can almost never make it through a session without having the game crash on you. And of course the crashes are most likely to happen when you are right about to beat a challenge that you've been slaving away on to get the reward but the game crashed so you're out of luck. Maybe it won't crash next time?

I'm playing the game on Mac and Linux. Lots of crashing on both platforms; haven't tried Windows but I'd be surprised if it was much better.

Dungeon Defenders is a fun game but the frustration caused by the crashes make it not worth playing.

It never Crashed on my Linux Laptop - It crashed one time in 72 hours play time on my Windows Computer. I dont think that this discussion was nessesary. It just looks like they are having server problems right now

It's not a server problem. The code segfaulted. Here is the output from /var/log/kern.log on my computer.

1500 Hours here with Legendary / Ultimate Defender. It sure didnt crash for me it used rarely but when I mailed trendy my dump they added a hotfix.

The Ranked servers are tied to Steams Servers. If they can not reach steam servers it disconnects you. If you're crashing however it's a personal problem.

Plus, you're on it right now. Apparently you didn't mean what you said.

I'd say it is a Mac problem. Survival nightmare crash quite often, the more complex the maps the more likely is a crash. I never came beyond lvl 24 in king's game and lvl 26 in city in the cliffs. Sky city crashes in lvl 30 about every second run. And I have a 2012 iMac with a separate graphic card. Other Mac-user suffer the same problem.

"In the GFX/Sound Options of the Configure Menu, please select "Don't Use Multi-Threaded Renderer"" Sounds good but can't be done on a Mac (or I can't).

75 hours of gameplay with no crashes. I think it's just your computer.

Kiibakun: thanks for the info. I haven't been playing in full screen mode so that's not it but I will turn off the Multi-threaded renderer and Post processing effects.

For the people who comment that it works just great for them. Could you also include what platform you are using? My hypothesis is that this game runs just fine on Windows.

My game were only crashing in the time,
when i used cheat-engine on not-ranked servers.

Even if this game is some years old,
it needs a computer with quite good hardware.

92% of DD players are using Windows I believe.
Although I can't help you as I don't use Mac or Linux. But the game certainly doesn't crash as much on WIndows, even on crappier PCs.

Also, @Mr. Sneaky Santa^^, real mature reply. How old are you? 9 or less?

I never have had this crash..... is it a driver confliction? Id def check some settings friend :) its a great game and I hope you can find the cause of it so you can enjoy it! :D
