That's the idea of it :) I think Deeper Well counts as the Tutorial...not 100% on that though. Also, roll a character that's easy to solo with first, like an apprentice or an adept.

Build towers at obvious choking points and nuke the goblins/ogres and stuff down before they touch the crystal. Easy peasy :)

there is a tutorial, in fact there is an achievement for doing it. i forget how to access it though

huh, NVM it appears that TE thinks there is enough info videos and guides about Dungeon defenders that they removed it, but does this make the achievement now unobtainable for new players?

Try starting with a Apprentice charater too they can make cheap towers and can handle the base game fairly easy for new players

I'd try mixing all four base characters in gameplay. It can get hard with only a mage.
