The majority were for it (somewhere around a 80:20 split) but Trendy contacted me personally and asked me not to do it.Those of us who know how this works aren't keeping it secret because we think we're special or anything - we're just not allowed to make the information publicly available. As such, everybody who knows how to do item checks had to work it out for themselves. Almost all the information is in DDDK if you're willing to read into it (the only items I can't absolutely check are in the Jester DLC, which isn't in DDDK)As for cloned gear made from what I've checked - not as big an issue as you'd think. Hackers are only going to make gear for personal use (won't affect you personally), to sell in paypal shops ((1) Avoid player shops, (2) ???, (3) PROFIT!!), or to attempt to flood people with hacked gear so they can laugh as people get banned. But if gear has legit stats, there's no real way to prove it's hacked, so that last part falls over. If they're selling hacked gear for mana to try and make that happen, but the gear's legit... well, does it really matter where a perfect rock comes from if you're paying what it's worth? You can't prove the legitimacy of an item that could theoretically spawn, and you can't really claim it's hacked because they're selling cheaper than other users, seeing as that's part of how the market works.I'd only really become a problem if they flood the game with so much gear the economy deflates - well, honestly, it probably needs to deflate a little anyways, and the only real solution would be increased supply of quality gear (gear becomes cheaper, people finding upgrades more often mean more mana spent upgrading the... upgrades). In moderation hackers could actually help fix the economy, which is an amusing concept. Or, Trendy could increase drop rates! ...but they seem completely opposed to changing them.
