Dungeon Defenders constant disconnect from Trendy Server.
I've encountered a problem whenever I play Dungeon Defenders that I'm always getting disconnected from TrendyNet.

It happens whenever a round starts, whenever I leave a game, or just randomly while playing. I can't get past a single round or wave, and differing what I play (survival, challenges, etc.) doesn't seem to do anything.

Dungeon Defenders is the only game that I have this problem with, and I've tried all the basics of restarting equipment, verifying integrity, etc.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know of any fixes? I've searched forums but everything I'm finding is sort of old and acknowledges they they have know of this issue for some time now.

I have the same problem, and from reading around it seems pretty common. My connection is fine, it's only this game.

have you tried the -tcp in the launch option trick?

try disabling any vpn's like hamachi
disable programs that block communications such as peer block

I'm getting this as well. Every game (2 so far) I've played with other people ends in a disconnect before finishing the map. Just now it happened when I was playing by myself online in a private match, which I've done before successfully. I'm new to this game, is this usual behavior or is this just an oddity?

Yeah its normal its better to host yourself that way you get the choice to stay or go

it was a suggestion the developer's suggested to use for people who had trouble creating games, and it worked for like 90% of the poeple who try it.

edit: a case where it has worked for someone

Yeah! I just got taken off it just now, and my 'net as well as Steam are all fine. WTF?! It's incredibly irritating. I had JUST set up a freakin' build on my ranked NM publicly hosted survival, and then BAM... main menu, cannot connect. >.< *rage* xD Thankfully, this doesn't happen as frequently as it appears to with you, but it happens, and when it does, it's irritating as hell.

No its steam only. Did a NM HC until wave 22 or 23 and got disconnected, again ( had already several times ).
They seem to don't give a s**t about it. So I dont give either about buying games here :D
Best thing is, you will never getting disconnected if you are not hosting or you are not playing nightmare.
Do insane hc, then you will get 100% to last wave and more.

I host nightmare often enough, it's fine. For me, and others evidently, disconnects can be at any given moment. (like just now... on no map, just hosting a shop)

It's not their servers, actually. It's improper usage of the steam API(there was a post from a steam dev about this awhile back...). If you lose connection to steam for even a moment, you get booted from your Ranked game. This has been brought to the attention of the devs many times and they have not changed it. There are reasons for it, but I'm not convinced there's not a better way to handle the connections.

Same issue here once and awhile.
Steam has been the problem every time.
Drops connections randomly(up to 3 times a day) for 1 to 30 seconds, for no reason at all.

Two pc's and a laptop connected to Steam playing DD in the same house, one of them looses connection and is booted, yet the other two are still in-game, playing.
Check friends list and such, "Offline mode" on the diconnected account.

On my end it's a steam issue, which started around 2-3 weeks ago. Although I've just chalk it up to the increased traffic during this time(steam + humble bundle sales).
