Which Character?!
I just got this game recently and all of it's DLC, I'm quite overwhelmed as to which character play. I have narrowed it down to the following: Adept, Barbarian, and Series EV. Any suggestions? All feedback appreciated, thanks.

Also, I went into Local and Online and I saw that the characters don't transfer over? Why not?

Mage is for a new player good but Series EV is pretty cool too

Ok, I'll probably play Series EV. Now for my other question, why don't the characters carry over from local to online? Or do they?

they dont, because alot hackers and cheaters play on open or local and the closed trendy net server prevents it so no import to them. if you like a dps maybe the jester or monk will really cool, when you want to play a builder prepare you will need a good monk builder, ev builder, sqire or mage buider, summoner. so its more work for a good builder then a good dps and iam telling of builder who can do NM TD or Kingsgame

You kinda need to be more specific with what you like to do. Do you like melee, ranged or Spells for example? By the way, a few of the classes are just gender bender versions of other classes. So it looks like theres quite a few classes more than there are.

It seems to me like they carry over. I just started playing this myself, and have a very low level Mage guy that I started in Local. When I read this, I went to see if I could get to him if I went Online. My two options for Online are Ranked, and Open. Under Open, it specifically says "Use your Local heroes in anything-goes open online play". So yes, you can level them up in Local, and then take them into the Open section of Online play, and use them. You just can't take them into "Ranked".

To be fair, I have no idea what the difference is.

@BonaFide: I like melee the most.
@Nytewalkyr: Yeah, I'll probably just make an online character so I can use it with friends in Ranked.

I'd make a tower builder first if you are playing solo. So that will leave you with either a Squire/Countess or Adept/Apprentice really. Then after you are done with that, you can start building other classes. Without a tower builder, you will be stuck in your progression through the game. And follow these other guys' advice, go to ranked so you don't have to put up with the hackers and stupidity.

Alright, and as for the difference between Adept/Apprentice? Which should I use?

Skills. And Adept runs faster.

I'm new to the game, only have the basic 4 and their alter-egos.
I'm finding squire/baroness is good fun, great for learning and possibly best for solo. Imo out of the basic classes they have the best towers by far. Even with jumping into combat as much as possibly the towers still get around 80% of the kills and only risk to the crystal usually is an ogre, nothing else gets past the towers.

So, to avoid retarded hackers and stupidity, you should create all your characters under Ranked? Does this still allow for single play if you're doing it through Ranked?

Also, as a side note .. what the hell is the number on an item? Like, you open your Item Box, and all your items have this .. number. i'm totally confused by what that means. I read that quality is measured by the name of the item, so .. if it's not like an item level or something .. what is it?

yes you can play single player on ranked, just make a private match that way only people on your friends list can join, then press esc and there should be a toggle to hide the match, that way no one can get into your game until you click unhide.

the number on your items are the value, the tavern sell price, this game uses a currency called mana to purchase new items and to upgrade your gear.
