Don't you just hate it when.....
people are making a private match, then extort that match to open and kick everyone that gets in.

I sometimes have to do this when inviting a friend to play with me, I have to un-hide the match to let them in so I have to kick anyone that joins.

Best advice I can give you is find a group to play with or just play solo.

Can't you just invite that person?

sometimes connections will not work in private matches and people are forced to play public to have friends join + having the game hidden prevents people from joining even with an invite so people have to unhide to get them into the game but there are pricks who will host public and kick people just to troll

iam one of the guys who unhide games for friends and i tell you somthing waht i hate, flamers who try to spam me down just because i will not let them in my nightmare game on Tavern defense. Like Troubledimp said, search for a group and use your brain to think why he kicked you.

Well you have to understand their point of view... When they see a NMHC tavern defense they will want to join. Then they get in and get kicked, now they must be think why you would have it open.

My friends and I have never needed to place our matched into "public" for any of us to join the others games. We either use Steam to invite, Steam to join friends or DD ingame invite.
If one of them fails to work, one of the other two will work.
The only time this has failed is when one of us has not restarted the game from a patch.

OP- Same reason I do not join any public games. Tried a few times and after "wtf are you doing in here?" comments I've never tried again.
Some how tagging their open but really closed game "friends only" is to troublesome.

Maybe if they did tag their match with such things the semi-literate like myself can take steps to avoid such situations.

you know tahts a basic problem, you open a match no its called "yourname game", friend asks if he can join, another asks, another asks, now you dont want to play with randoms, why opening a new game? game is set, but you cannot name it to "friends only" now. you have to take that you can get kicked in a game, when you want to not get kicked host our own games and try to be a better one.

"Like Troubledimp said, search for a group and use your brain to think why he kicked you."

Funny ! This is not the way TE intended things. Open games are for people who have not group. And how should they meet people to form a group when other peope are to lazy to name their games "private only" ?

I tried to play a while open games, but I stopped it. One reason, but not the only one: This kicking for unknown reason. But I must confess, I had open games which were great fun and I met players who are worth meeting.

You can name matches anything you want and hide/show them with two button presses.
1. Start
2. Play online
3. Ranked
4. Select Character
5. "Custom" game
6. Host game
7. Enter match name <----------
8. In tavern use esc button, top right is show/hide match.

A game label like "look for more 20-30", "60+", "Friends only will kicking" goes a lot farther in letting a person know what kinda match it is, what they might be looking for or do not desire.

I've set match names to "LF 60/70 -insert class-" just to learn from people who play that class a lot. Watching where they place towers and so forth.
