It is about speaking out against a widespread bad behaviour. Apparently there are alot of players out there who need to be told that it is a detrimental thing to do.
To use a metaphor, it has much the same effect as peeing in a swimmingpool: people are far less likely to stay in the pool (keep plaing the game).
What they should be doing, is use the 'hide match' button or start a private match instead.
And leave a hint in the gamename.
Pretty much noone cares about the excuses they might have, as there are very few valid ones and they do not bother to tell you why - just kicking within 2-3 seconds.
I have hosted quite a bit lately and mostly there is no need to kick.
Only a few who go afk (without approval) and lootwh*res who wont stop when told to.
My tip, if there is one that applies, is this.
If you worry that inexperienced joiners in very weak gear screw up the building of defense, then do what I do:
1. Host game -> set level -> start in tavern -> immediately hit hide match.
2. at your leisure, pick map and option and use the first 2-3 waves to set up your defense.
3. now that defense is set up, stop hiding the game -> show match.
4. profit.
Thats how I run my survival runs (pet+giraffe) and I frequently have full games. A few don't like that it is all setup when they come in and just leave quickly, but that is their choice and unfortunately I find that approach necessary to reliably hit wave 25, without requiring level 70/74 and a gear+achivement check.
(only Mech and Dragon Bosses are missed here). Sure there are less games in open
then in closed net, but the people are much more peaceful because if they open a game
they really want people to play with them. On closed net I often felt like people only want
stronger players to join there games...or buiders (char was towermage) aren't welcome.
I am little bit sad that there are no Achievements left but if I had to decide between fun
and pseudo-internet-fame it is an easy decission. Maybe I get really to old for actuall
internet-communities because it seems like "it should work" isn't good enough today.
note this is somehting i copyed and paste because im lazy to rewrite it enjoy
