Please don't kick people as soon as they join the game
If you want to play with yourself, or your friends only, make a private game.

I agree with you. Another thing I noticed when our lvl is low and weak are kicked. Once your lvl is high and strong, and continues to be kicked. Honestly I do not understand these people's DD.

On Dungeon Defenders? Blasphemy! Imagine in PvP games where people could kill host or you aren't kicked for being too high or low level!

In pvp, not incidentally, never played in pvp. I mean in normal mode, it's happened to me a few times.

Well there are some maps that people either can't carry a low level undergeared, or don't like to because that means more work for them. Also I've seen so many level 100s with around 1k in their stats trying to get into Winterwonderland runs. There are people that could carry thme, but most can't. Some kick for no reason, but a lot do it for a very good reason. Also certain maps take certain characters. If you join an Akaiti with a builder but don't have a DPS I'm going to kick you. You should also realize you don't see this every once in a while. I'll open up an akaiti game and need to kick 30-40 people before getting 1 that has the gear to be of any use.

dmtimekiller okay, but in those cases, I think it never hurts to ask if the hero is needed, for example I have for these cases, a barbarian or a ranger to help. If not, I agree with you, it will not help anything, but it never hurts to ask and warn it will kick it and for what reason. It's what I think.

Well lets say I do that for every one. Take about 5 minutes, so I would end up taking about 2 and a half hours trying to find people that would actually be geared enough.

It is true. The biggest problem is that the time the game runs, does not stand waiting press "G" equals the survivel. Ideally call friends with DPS suitable for this, so you do not have to be kicking all the time. Unfortunately not all friends can be available at the same time.

I have read that some people can not invite friends to their private game. It is possible that they are waiting for a specific player to join before they hide the match. I think in that case it would be nice if they named their game accordingly.

you need to stop taking it personally your going to get kicked allot in this game
Tydo May 28, 2013 @ 2:13am
It is really not about taking it personally.
It is about speaking out against a widespread bad behaviour. Apparently there are alot of players out there who need to be told that it is a detrimental thing to do.
To use a metaphor, it has much the same effect as peeing in a swimmingpool: people are far less likely to stay in the pool (keep plaing the game).

What they should be doing, is use the 'hide match' button or start a private match instead.
And leave a hint in the gamename.

Pretty much noone cares about the excuses they might have, as there are very few valid ones and they do not bother to tell you why - just kicking within 2-3 seconds.

I have hosted quite a bit lately and mostly there is no need to kick.
Only a few who go afk (without approval) and lootwh*res who wont stop when told to.
My tip, if there is one that applies, is this.
If you worry that inexperienced joiners in very weak gear screw up the building of defense, then do what I do:
1. Host game -> set level -> start in tavern -> immediately hit hide match.
2. at your leisure, pick map and option and use the first 2-3 waves to set up your defense.
3. now that defense is set up, stop hiding the game -> show match.
4. profit.

Thats how I run my survival runs (pet+giraffe) and I frequently have full games. A few don't like that it is all setup when they come in and just leave quickly, but that is their choice and unfortunately I find that approach necessary to reliably hit wave 25, without requiring level 70/74 and a gear+achivement check.

You forgot some main reasons for kicking - the annoying player who wants you to give them items, and keep asking; or beg to change to other maps constantly. Then there is the "Please Don't Kick Me person" you very soon find out why they are kicked from every game - they never shut up and contribute nothing to help out upping and repairing.

Thats why I returned to open and left closed after hard and some levels on insane
(only Mech and Dragon Bosses are missed here). Sure there are less games in open
then in closed net, but the people are much more peaceful because if they open a game
they really want people to play with them. On closed net I often felt like people only want
stronger players to join there games...or buiders (char was towermage) aren't welcome.

I am little bit sad that there are no Achievements left but if I had to decide between fun
and pseudo-internet-fame it is an easy decission. Maybe I get really to old for actuall
internet-communities because it seems like "it should work" isn't good enough today.

Well yeah, there is a huge number of spoiled brats on the game. I've joined some of those "Need Help" games. It's on something like Tavern Defense or wahtever, something pretty easy.So I join figuring I would help them out. They then see my stats and go Oh well in that case you're going to help me with Akaiti or WW. I've even had it as bad as telling someone I didn't realyl want to run either of those and the reply I get is along the lines of, "well this is what we are doing now so deal with it." Really? I join offering to help and you're going to act like that about it. I also used to give away trans items here and there to help people complete sets, or help where they are lacking. Sometimes I would go as far as giving away a whole set. All I get in return is them acting like I some how owed them more.
