Can't join or invite a friend
I can't join or invite my brother to my game. We can both host games and have random people join. We can also both join random games but for some reason we can't join each other's games. I can't think of any sort of logical explanation for this. I've checked firewall settings, validated the local cache and just about everything else I can think of. Please help!

Have you tried inviting to the private match ?

Yeah any sort of invite fails. But only for my brother.

So you can join your brother? but your brother cannot join you ?

Sorry, i have read that wrong, Late in the evening :P

Do both of you wireless connection, Wan connection or do one of you use wireless and the other use Lan connection?

If so, Try to use the same type of connection(Wireless or Lan). In some games this can cause problems, because of different IP addresses(At least from my experience)

Another question.

What kind of Anti-virus do you use?

have you tried setting up both of your profiles and being friends in steam?

create a private match and then tell your brother to goto online>>Ranked or open(dependeds witch one your on) then tell him to wait, and send him a invite et voila!

If you are getting a banned from game message then it could be that your brother or you are not a high enough level character for the map selected. In the upper right corner of mission set-up change it to a lower number. I am just guessing at this - but hope it works.

I think its a bug its been happening to me since the last update but they can join from the available games list so I have been doing it that way it just means your going to have to kick people to make space for them

It would help to narrow it down if you could specify "you and your brother", as in:
are you both playing from the same place (same home, meaning same IP & router) or from seperate places = different IP address, like the 'randoms' you are able to get into your games.

Some games (more specifically their matchmaking servers) are pretty annoying in that regard, not allowing guest to connect to the host if they both have the same (external/public) IP address, even though they are on different IP on their (home) LAN.
Usually the reason is to prevent unbalanced stuff or circumventing many of the artificial limits that are present in most games - that can all be sidestepped by getting *other* people to join.

Also as TheCurmudgeons mentioned, make sure the <level to enter> variable is set low enough for his characters.
