Can't Equip Items - Plz Help

I've had dungeon defenders for some time. I took a break for some months. When I started it up again whenever I create a new Hero and even my existing level 11 monk, when you open the hero info so you see your stats and items, on the right it is blank. I see the black shadow outline of the person, but no boxes so i can equip items, they are gone. When i talk to tavern keeper the button to give item to hero is grey out. Even out of item box it won't let me equip. The items are well within level of the hero to equip. When others inspect the hero they say nothing is equipped. They see boxes but no items equipped.

Any help would be great! I've restarted multiple times. The game is up to date. My older heroes have items and can equip normally. Just not new heroes and a few of my low existing heroes.

I'm in a similar situation...haven't played for like half a year... Can't equip any newer better weapons or equipment..they are much lower level than me. Give to Hero is simply greyed out and only my starting equipment can be given to Hero.

what class / gear is it?

any gear? just nothing gets equipped? or are you putting weapons on a summoner? summoners dont use weapons they get 2 pets how ever.

go to the main dungeon defenders website their forums have alot of technical help posts that are easy to follow.
