My only 3 problems on linux. (Screenshots for quick explanation)
Some avatars/icons in the hero selection screen get glitched.

I'm not a gem magnet anymore... :(

Some of the character's textures seem to glitch (not all)

But if i load a character with bad textures in tavern, then go to a map it will be fixed until i swap hero again.

Otherwise everything is working like a charm. The only real gameplay issue is that the gems don't get auto picked up.

So, am i the only one having these issues? or more like is there anyone not having these issues? Can i fix them by installing some missing dependancy or something?

For additional info (and here i'm wishing for a spoiler tag)
I'm running x86_64 arch linux latest stable kernel. I've got the nvidia proprietary drivers and i have an intel i7 processor. i'm running Enlightenment E17 from arch's official repositories as my Window Manager also.

Even if i want these problems fixed. I'm not complaining. I think its impressive that there are no bigger problems. and I'm loving that it's compatible with the windows version so you can play with the players who are playing it on windows without problems.

Mana does not get auto picked up for linux. It makes insane and nightmare soloing impossible. So you will have to find groups. Trendy is not going to fix these issues ever. They are focusing on DD2 so we will have to get used to playing like this.

What about the textures?

I'm suffering from the mana issue as well. The game also doesn't quit after I close it down.

Those are my only two issues at the moment. The mana issue seems the strangest to me as that would not be a part of any OS specific code.

The mana-magnet issue was apparantly a known bug when they released the port. It will be fixed at some point, but it may take a few months. See: https://bugzilla.icculus.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5831

If I understand things correctly the port is being maintained by Icculus, not by Trendy. So DD2 shouldn't interfere with bug-fixing in the Linux port.

Mana issue has to do with PhysX (see Dacke's link).

I don't think I've noticed any texture issues. Definitely none missing, but maybe once or twice it looks like the LOD is too low.

There are probably 20 "problems" I have regularly, but nothing that I feel is worth complaining about. The biggest buzzkill for me prior to the Steam release was having to start the game two or three times before I could "Press any key." Those days are gone - everything else is manageable.

Few more month and it will be a year of Trendy ignoring to fix the gem problem plus the series EV crash bug, Linux users should give them an award for such splendid not fixing bugs...

the game constantly crashes for me

When are these bugs going to be fixed? It's been 3 years already. I bought the game, saw the bugs, decided to wait till the bugs get sorted out and nothing. When is Trendy going to update the PhysX?

This may sound like I'm picking a fight, but let's say DD was ported from PS3 or Xbox360 and had game breaking bugs on Windows since the beginning and no one bothered fixing those bugs for 4 years, and every time you decide to ask about fixing the bugs, some PS3 or Xbox owner would come to the discussion and say "why don't you just buy a Console? You can get it cheap on ebay. I don't get what the fuss is about, PC's are not made for gaming."
Why is it that people can't put themselves in other people's shoes?
Again, not trying to pick a fight it just gets annoying when every time people ask about port or just fixing port bugs someone like that shows up in the thread.
DD is being updated on Windows and yet the Developer can't bother fix around 4 bugs the game has on Linux so users can play the game they bought the way they should. This is not some bug that showed up when updating or changing distro. I'm now even asking to update the game to latest version, I just want to play the game without some game breaking bug ruining it!
Sorry for the long post.

Yeah that.

Yeah let me stop you right there buddy, The only operating systems designed specifically for gaming only are console operating systems....

Which reminds me, most of them are based on Linux (everything that's not Xbox basically) remember that PS3 once allowed you to just install Linux on it? Yeah that was not a coincidence. You might also not have been able to guess this but they all tend to use a modified version of the OpenGL renderer which Linux uses for gaming (when it's not using Vulkan, and newsflash: Consoles are gonna use that as well, besides xbox).

Let's also not forget the console OS that literally is linux, SteamOS, made by Valve, recommended by glorious PC master race GabeN himself, chew on that for a second.

In all seriousness though, the 3 most mainstream operating systems, Windows, macOS and Linux, none of these 3 are designed for one specific purpose they are all general purpose operating systems, they're designed not for one thing but for everything. Now think a bit further on why highly respected industries (ranging from military to governments, almost everyone hosting a website or just web server of any kind (and the bigger chunk that doesn't use Linux uses BSD or Solaris, not Windows Surrvurr because they have a brain, then the brainless minority of people in this field will use Windows Surrvurr cus Windoss) this tells you only one thing, Linux is a far more trusted platform than both macOS and Windows in the industrial world, and for good, very very good reason.

I don't really have to tell you why it's better, even if I know the reasons, I'll just let you chew on it further that I doubt the US Military would use Linux for all mission critical software components of their latest superwarship (the USS Zumwalt, a stealthed destroyer) if they didn't have a very good reason to pick it over everything else. Also, game servers tend to be hosted on Linux, not Windows (yes this includes MMORPG servers for Windows exclusive games, one example I can give for trending mainstream MMORPGs right now where this is actually known would be Star Citizen, although they are planning to add linux support later on)

Deal with it, Linux is at it's core better than Windows, the only issues that Linux has all stem from the fact that it's not as popular among consumers as Windows and macOS are. No consumers = No corporate interest for developing and marketing products to linux users. That's literally the one problem with Linux, and don't get me started counting out the problems with Windows and macOS plz.

That all said, I'm by no means a Linux fanboy, it has flaws, I just hate it less (by an enormous margin) than I hate Windows and macOS. I still have my issues with it, but most of these issues are things that your average joe (like you obviously) wouldn't really care about.

Dunno how you took this as if I was somehow raging, I was simply mocking your obvious stupidity ignoring that Linux is exactly as general purpose as Windows is. And also ignoring the fact that most consoles are linux based and that steamos exists

They don't have to support 10+ distros, they just need to support 1 and package the dependencies with the game. I don't have problems with optimized games on any distro. I have tried different games on Ubuntu with different DE's, Manjaro, Antergos and others and all the games i tried work flawlessly (there is rarely a game that has compatibility issues, but even if there is, there's always a workaround) and what do you mean with "downgrade to an old Linux distribution" these bugs appear on Ubuntu 12.04, THE OS that this game is supposed to support.
