Are the DLCs important or very good?
Hey guys,
I'm thinking of buying this game and don't know if I should buy it with or without the DLCs. I haven't ever played the game, and I also don't really know what the DLCs contain. Do they just contain singleplayer missions? If yes, how long do they take?

How long is game without any DLCs? Do you think that the DLCs worth it or would you buy only some DLCs and not all or none of them at all?

Lot's of questions, I know. I thank you for reading and hopefully for answering.

Cheers

I started with the Base game and bought the complete edition when I had around 60hrs in this game. You can join all of the maps even if you don't own the DLC. Except for the Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards Missions which expand the campaign and add the hardest difficulty level (Nightmare). If you don't want to play on the hardest difficulty you don't need the DLC heroes.

Same as Ciryaher, but i might have bought mine some 40 hours in. If you are liking this game you ARE gonna want the DLC later on with the additional characters and more multiplayer maps and stuff. And i tell you, it's an awesome game, and it's all about multiplayer, much because you can play 2 players locally and online at the same time. So if you have a friend or a family member to play with and 2 controllers (preferably xbox) this game really shines.

To get almost all of the game experience buy the base game as well as the shards expansion, also buy the unique heros (not the m/fm counterparts and not the Jester). That's basicly all you need to do almost all of the content. As Ciryaher said you can join games played on all the other maps. I'd also suggest you don't get power leveled especialy if you just get the base game. It is very satisfying to finaly beat a boss that caused you trouble and make your characters more powerful. This is pretty much all gone if you get power leveled as the combat is very repediative, and end game tower building is basicly a gear check.

Edit: I've spent around 400 hours on this game and most before the last shards dlc came out. I had a ton of fun beating the bosses on insane and then slowly gaining entry to nightmare. (I didn't get far end game wise xD I've always been behind the curve in that respect)

So I should buy the Barbarian Hero, New Heroes, Summoner Hero and Series EV Hero DLCs and the shards complete edition, right?

What do you mean with power leveling? I know that from Oblivion, but how should you power level in this game?

Played the second mission and defeated the boss, I think one more hit from him at the cristal and I'd have lost. Nice game, played for over 2 hours now.
