It could just be me, but I think it's better...
I got the game on release, and while it was fun, my walruses drove me (and themselves) over the brink. Well, playing in version 1.70025 (I think, the current beta)... it could just be me, but I'm actually happy with their performance.

Now, don't get me wrong. They're still as dumb as a flock of birds (have you ever seen a bird fly into a window? I have.). However, now they're more like parrots, in that they can actually serve a purpose now. I might be remembering it worse than it was, but my Assisting walruses now actually help me engage targets. They'll still occasionally get stuck on a tree or wander off for a moment like a kid with ADD, but they'll (usually) eventually get it right.

Just thought I'd share my observations. I'm only just now leaving Outpost, but that's a fair demo of functionality, I think. Also, this is using only the base machine guns. Not perfect, but better.

Hi, I play command carrier long time, I dont know why but I love this game. I have the version 1.6.00.11 I dont know anything about beta versions, I just checked even the official site. Can you link me the 1.7 beta patch? Thanks a priori

Right-click on your game in your Library, click Properties, then go to the Beta tab, and select the beta patch from the drop-down menu.

so it isn't as crap as it was on release? did they fix pathing? xD

They still occasionally get stuck, but it seems like a much less common occurrence than it used to be.

It's not perfect, but I think it's safe to say that it's certainly at least better than it was on release. It was quite bad back then. I just started it back up and I've gotten as far as capturing Fulcrum in a campaign game, and they don't annoy me too much. :)

Like, I can tell them to go somewhere or do something, and they'll actually (usually) get there/do it most of the time instead of geting stuck on a rock or tree or something.

Am playing command carrier second time now, I dont complain for the pathing. I notice that all going ok EXCEPT when walruses are near a bridge and try to pass they got confused and going under

Solution: go manually each tank through bridges (dont worry there are only a few in the game) and the not so big path problem is cause of the confussion on the "height" axis. Somehow bohemia should add a fix so tanks could see the difference between the path Up on the bridge and the path UNDER

I think they are still working on this game because there is a beta patch and they promised modders access to more stuff, it just takes them a very long time.

Right. They definitely haven't abandoned it, they're just not a very large studio, hence things like patches take more time than for something like, say, a Blizzard product.

the game for me is still bad, to a certain degree, it still crashes a lot, it doesn't get maintaned anymore, and the game feels like a reboot for money of the original game, and like half of a really good game.

Except the FPS parts, they REALLY make me want to uninstall the game

It is still getting patched. Parts of it could be better, but considering the size of the studio, it's really not a bad game.

ever since i bought it almost 1 year ago or so i have yet to see any patch, and yes, i know BIS, and they can do much more, but no surprise they dont care about this game anymore, it did not sold well, it was not well criticized, and BIS have others game to take care about.

Right-click on the game, click Properites, go to the Betas tab, opt in to the beta. 1.07 beta patch was released last October.

Slow to be patched, but it hasn't been shelved like you're suggesting.

nice, but i still think the game is nearing the end of its life, and it hasn't been patched enough

At least we all believe that this game is good, no matter the fixes that it needs

i dont, the game has too many flaws, its a 6/10, even with ♥♥♥♥ that doesn't make sense, it feels like half of a great carrier command game, but then i get to the FPS sections and the game scores 3/10
Lou the Lou Jul 15 @ 4:30pm
The FPS sections are few and far between, they're short, and they're only part of the story/campaign. Knocking the game down 3 points out of 10 just because of that is neither fair nor justifiable.

You're entitled to think what you want. I'm simply disagreeing.
