Hidden Daily Deal at 66% off...worth it?
i've never been into vehicle simulation games, but i love the ArmA series and i have all the games and the DLCs of the series plus Operation Flashpoint (just to clear my situation). I know that this game it's different from his "brothers" but since driving vehicles is an important part in ArmA i guess that should not be much a problem for me to play this game. That said, is this game worth the price? Is it a good game (performance/bug/gameplay)? Please let me know your thoughts about it...

I second this request.

Wow, wish I'd waited one more day to snag it! Heh...

At any price you get it, it's great. Also an Armaholic who came to the series. Not regretting it.

Ouch. I'm in the same boat, bought it yesterday at full price. But I still don't regret it, so that should answer your question :)

ok guys...so the game it's well put together without major issues as far as i'm readind your replies...what about the gameplay? i've heard of a patch for non steam ver which shifts the settings around ArmA2 and OA enviroment, so you have to pilot on a battlefield, right? also there's a DLC which gives you the chance to pilot hinds...are there already combat situations in the base game? If not are there some chances to see the patch for the steam users anytime soon? In few words: in the base game are there combat situations in which you have to dodge incoming fire and shoot your enemies down? The DLC has this kind of things? Is there at least ONE chance to see the 1.6 patch released for steam users? Sorry for all these questions but since i've not played simulation games (aside from arma) i'd like to understand how the game is...tnx

Use the 'Six Launcher' program to startup and install "Take on Rearmed", which does use ARMA 2 assets. Flew around Cherno in a Heavy today, works nicely.

There's only one combat situation I'm aware of: a scenario where you are shot down, and must defend your helo with a rifle. Unsure about air combat, though.

so take on rearmed it' s not part of the 1.6 patch right? the method you mentioned works for the steam version too?

The method I mentioned works on Steam. That's where I have ARMA 2 and TOH installed. Rearmed is currently in Beta, and works with Six Launcher.

It was confirmed yesterday, Rearmed will be in the next patch. When we get said patch is unknown... The Beta works fine as of now.

i guess this should be enough for me...hope the game has some replay value like arma...

Everything needs to be built, i mean the missions to play, weather it be combat or free flight, with the new patch released it has everything Arma 2 has to offer along with the much improved flight system. I make my own missions & host them online, Keep your eyes open for CWW server.

I been looking for a flight sim like sim copter how close is this game to it?
Harry 24 ก.ย., 2012 @ 5:44pm
I just got it and played it for the first time.
I'm using a Siatek Cyborg Fly 5 stick. as well as mouse and keyboard and i'm also using Freetrack for head movement.
I can't call this game a simulation really because after DCS World (black shark 2 and a10c Warthog) this thing feels very much dumbed down.
The controls are a massive issue also.Terrible controls.
I will get better but still don't know why the choppers lean to one side like a roll. Surely they have some kind of stablisation :/
Interesting though.
If DCS World is 10/10 in term of complexity and simulation then Flight Sim X is probably a 6-7/10 this gets a 2-3/10.
It's kinda like FSX with Drama. It's wierd!

Controller setup is a nightmare , cant belive the devs never put in a few hours work on this , you have to remap it all your self more are less.If i paid Full price i would be upset but at this price i think its a decent buy if you like helicopters and you get a good amout of content for this price , As Harry said, better ones out there but you pay alot more for most of them
ColdCheese 24 ก.ย., 2012 @ 9:14pm
I bought Arma2 CO non-Steam version because I was told it worked better at the time for Dayz, if I buy this Chopper sim on Steam, will I still be able to use the mod to fly over Cherno? Are the two versions compatible? I use six launcher for Dayz by the way.
