Store video
I'll never buy a game without a gameplay video or a demo. You actually had me interested enough to visit the store page. But the video is nothing more than the opening cut scene. I have NO idea what this game is about. So, no sale. There should be a video with 1 minute of game play so I can get some idea of what I would be buying.

You are right. Check the other SpellForce titles or youtube for now. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE1XOXN8Ku8

SpellForce is basically an RTS with a lot of RPG elements. You will love it when you try it out :)

It's been out for awhile now and they never patched it. I think the campaign works but Single Payer Domination and Skirmish gives errors. A number of people have brought up the issue in the official forums but more or less got laughed at.

I think the only fix for the game (which I personally haven't tried) is uninstalling Steam and all of it's games entirely and then reinstalling Steam outside of it's default directory which would place in in 'Program Files.'

There's something about Windows security and the Program Files folder that this game doesn't respect.

Just note, however that all Steam games installed from that point on will be outside of Windows security protection.

EDIT: Nevermind, tried installing outside of Program Files and still no worky - Look here http://steamcommunity.com/app/65530/discussions/0/846938350898165788/

I've enjoyed this series. Faith in Destiny is crap. They took most of the things I enjoyed about the series, and got rid of it. I've never seen a patch, nor added content. This game was a huge burn for the fans of the Spellforce series, and I'm sure the devs laughed all the way to the bank.

Cool, I never install games or steam in the default /program files/ folder anyway so I should have no issues.

Strangely enough, I have never missed that vaunted "windows security protection" either.

A newer and Win7 version of Age of Mythology :)

So do some damn research if you have no idea what the game is about. It's not that difficult. You're already online. You actually make purchase decisions based exclusively on what is on the Steam store page? Google it and find out what the hell the game is about. Some people...unbelieveable.

Its not my job to buy their games.
It is, however, their job to sell the game.
There's plenty of games out there. I have zero desire to spend time researching this one. Frankly, I assume that if a given ad is hiding game play, there's probably a reason. Further, if that is the effort they place in marketing, perhaps it is indicatve of the effort they place in programming. Thus my time is better spent elsewhere.
Your conclusion that I "actually make purchases based exclusively on what is on the Seam store page" is not based on logic nor can be derived logically from anything I said. *IF* they present me with a gameplay video AND the gameplay seems interesting, then I go the next step of checking out youtube and/or the forum. Nothing I said earlier precludes that. Thus, your assertion is baseless and indicative of a faulty reasoning process.
You do, however, seem to be a very angry individual not prone to very rational thinking so you must feel quite at home trolling forums.
Good day, sir.

there's this new website called youtube.com, you can watch all sorts of videos with gameplay and stuff

Considering how many games are on Steam, many will have a way of initially grabbing your attention. If they expect us to visit YouTube to find each gameplay video (And it's not always easy to find a reliable video without some effort), you'd spend way too much time on way too many games. I used to do it that way, so I know. Not worth it, since you'll end up going back to games after forgetting about them. Bashing someone for saying that the store page should have something it doesn't makes you seem as hollow as a storepage without a proper gameplay video =)

Spellforce used to be a good series for coop strategy fans. Faith in Destiny does not have coop out-of-box, and I doubt there is ever going to be even an unofficial patch that adds that feature back into it.

The author of this thread brings up a good point. It's their job to sell the game to us, not the other way around. Sounds like a very niche game at anyrate, like if you played the first couple in the title series, you'll like the new one. Thought i'd get it but.. meh. Doesn't sound or look all that interesting.

I think the graphics is outdated and almost the same as the spellforce 2. The 3D model of the character is as rough as its predecessor. It's hardly to believe there is no improvement after so many years.
