Current state of the game?

Hi all! I was curious about the the current state the game is in. I know it got a bad rating when it first came out but now there's been time for patches/etc and I'm curious how the game fares now?

Same here. I loved the original SF and was seriously annoyed when I couldn't play the 2nd expansion because it didn't work with my newer version of windows, was SLIGHTLY disappointed with SF2, and put off by the HORRENDOUS reviews of FID. But those reviews were made before any of the DLC scenarios were made and before the most recent patches. Despite the fact I already own the 1st 2 games I'd like to get the full set now while they are on sale. I just don't want to pay even a good price for something that might be broken. £10 is £10. So my questions are: 1. Does everything work with Win7 x64?; and 2. Is FID still rubbish?

FiD is playable sure, but it's quite awful, the only reason I finished it is because I don't want to be in the dark regarding the upcoming expansion. The DLCs are somewhat better, the first has some funny moments, but bugged up on me at the end which kept me from finishing it, the second has a hilariously bad story (it's essentially the spellforce version of pokémon) and the 3rd DLC has you defending your base for FOUR HOURS straight, regardless of you have any sidequests left to do or not. I gave up after two.

In short; get Gold edition instead, FiD was only worth getting as part of the Humble Bundle.

FiD got better and fixed, mostly, with the fixes and DLCs. It might be worth getting as a part of a whole package. 2nd DLC was kinda boring, but the rest were actually ok and funny, and with challenge.

The other Spellforce games are pretty good. Whole Spellforce 1 and Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm (which is within Gold) are great, meanwhile Shadow Wars is good but less than others. FiD was a disappointment but was improved with DLCs.

Okay, to confirm: All 3 games work absolutely fine with win7 x64 [*edit* without having to mess about with any compatability crap] and my thoughts on the games ( i.e. Spellforce Complete Pack) as of TODAY are:

Faith In Destiny really isn't the best of progressions for a unique, and truly outstanding, set of games but at their current sale price?...this is my only EVER 100% rating. The graphics may have taken a slight knock with the passing of time but playing the original SF again after all these years is just as much fun as it ever was and throw in SF 2 and all the expansions for both games and FID just becomes a little bonus on top of the MANY hours you will spend with this franchise.

Alternatively you COULD just buy SF Platinum and SF2 Gold for almost half the cost of the full set (which would certainly represent a better deal). But, in all seriousness, at THIS price, that's just penny pinching.

Don't waste your time or money on SF2 FID. A well documented game stopping lazy coding bug about 2/3 through the game is still present. Up to that point it plays ok on windows 8.1 64 bit, but is not a great game.

This game is better than Sf1 ( which I finished and it was good ). I havent gotten 2/3rd through Faith in destiny like Shaunyw but so far it is running great. I will finish it.....we will see....

I too found the first spellforce the best. Spellforce 2? I loved Dragon Storm. The other two were ok, although both could be better. Especially FiD.
