Zafehouse Diaries 2 Linux technical demo available
Update: The full Linux version is now available! Thanks to everyone who helped test the technical demo. Please note the demo link has been removed.

Original post follows:

Calling all Linux users!

Thank you for your patience so far. We wanted to make the Linux version of the game available as soon as possible and now that the support situation is under control, we now have an opportunity to give it proper attention.

A special demo build of Zafehouse Diaries 2 has been made available (download link provided below), so we can make sure the game runs correctly.

As such, we're focusing on feedback regarding problems with graphics, audio, input and anything else related to actually running the game.

If you do hit something, we'd also appreciate a run-down of your computer's specifications, e.g. CPU, video card, amount of RAM, distro and version and display resolution.

Because Zafehouse Diaries 2 is built in Unity 4, we can only officially support Ubuntu 12.04 or later. However, the game should be able to run on a variety of distributions, though you may need to install additional drivers or libraries in order for it to work.

Please note the tech demo comes with the following restrictions:
  • The game will end after 3 days of in-game time.
  • Limited to 3 survivors (custom or random).
  • Only the tutorial scenario, "Safe As Houses", is available.
  • Some dilemmas, events and modifiers disabled.
  • Item editor is disabled.

It starts without problem here. Later I will play the scenario and test slowly. Great work !!

It works absolutely fine! I'm using the latest Mesa driver on a Radeon R7 370. This is on openSUSE 64-bit (Tumbleweed).

Thank you! I will buy the instant it's officially available for Linux!

Working great here too. My specs: ArchLinux 64-b with nvidia and lastest drivers

Loads up fine. Will give it a play-through tonight after work. I had the same (random) glitch that I had with Fear Equation (Though oddly not with Deadnaut); I had to disable my second monitor the very first time I launch it to make the game not span across to a black monitor. After that, it remembers the settings and I don't have to disable the second monitor anymore with any successive launch. Minor thing, easily fixed and probably more to do with nvidia than the game itself.

Plays brilliantly. No problem running all three days through to completion. I'm on KDE Neon/based on Ubuntu 16.04 Nvidia 1050 GPU with 381 drivers. Also, just for kicks, decided to see if it would run on my AMD E2-7110 potatoe laptop. With some settings dropped it worked just fine on that too.

You guys are the best. I can't wait for the full release!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Looks like we'll be able to release sooner rather than later! :)

That's excellent news, especially since the first game (which I LOVED) is not available on Linux. :deadnautshield:
