Performance Issues
Just a heads-up for those with decent hardware that are still getting questionable performance (in other words: struggling to maintain 60fps at maximum settings, including 16x AA @ 1080p) be sure to set the effect resolution down to "low"; it might not give you that nice, warm, fuzzy feeling of it being on the absolute max, but then it's about the only option I can find that solves the performance issues, and all honesty, I cannot even remotely see the difference. You could always force better settings via your GPU's control panel, if you're looking to push the game further.

how about no stupid antialsing???i'f you have it set to your monitors native resoulution, you don't need antialsing!,it's pure stupidiy!have everthing on max accept AA and i get 120 fps.also turn your tv or monitor's sharpness down to 0.really no need for AA then!

David, I appreciate your opinion, but it's just that, an opinion. My GPU should be entirely capable, or I wouldn't have put it up to such a high AA setting. The game is, afterall, about 8 years old.

I don't need someone to tell me what my preferences should or shouldn't be.

I for one, am so far running the game at an invariable 60fps, with everything maxed (minus the effect resolution, of course) 16x AA, and at 1080p - why? Because I wanted to, because I can, and becomes it interests me to know how far I can push a game to my preference of 60fps.

If I can have AA so high, then who are you to tell me that I cannot? It is, after all, MY computer, MY game, and MY choice.

For the record, 120fps would be wasted as my monitor, as it's a 60Hz monitor, like so many out there. I opted for an ASUS, AH-IPS monitor, for the overall image quality. If you are OK with adjusting your display's settings, such as the sharpness, then fine, but some of us have different preferences.

If you think that all aliasing issues can be solved by simply turning down the sharpness setting on your monitor, then feel free to contact Rockstar and Gearbox, in order to inform them of how they could've solved their games' horrendous aliasing issues. I applaud your wisdom.

One last thing. OK, you say you can run the game maxed at 120fps (I'm assuming you uncapped the fps, because mine is capped at just over 60) but what would've actually been helpful, and given you some credibility, would be to post your graphics card, OS, and any other useful information.

Just no. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I could not get this to run under DX10 it would just lock up 3 mins in to the start of the game but in DX9 it plays and looks amazing at 1920x1080@60hz, I am also a 60hz man games run fast and smooth for me and I don't think I need 120hz to be honest

Agreed! ...although, a higher refresh rate is easier on the eyes, so, ... less eye-strain, headaches, and whatever else that some people get. (myself included, eventually)
