Need help on the raptor raid mission
So it's the 4th time I try to do this mission without much success. First, I finally learned how to manually target and arm weapons which proved to be quite useful. But, I run out of energy before I can kill a second target. Seriously, for small ships they have pretty powerful shields. Am I doing something wrong in terms of energy consumption? I can get the 2nd target to half shields but then my guns stop firing. I use all weapons, because my energy shells alone aren't enough to get through their shield.

What I found best in doing, is equip the Angelwing with three energy shells, and two hull busting weapons. Fire only one group of weapons at a time. Take down their shields first. Then go for Hull. With three energy shells, you should do fine. If you still have trouble, fire on the target that the Chrome is firing on. Ignore the cries of help from cargo ships. Usually they aren't even being attacked. They are just whining. Also, something that might help you ALOT is that you can pause the game with the space bar. I don't remember if you can take off the datascanner, but if you can, you could always try to remove it for a fourth energy shell, if nothing else is working. I hope that helps. Mind what I said about pausing it too. You'll want to do that alot ore later in the game. It'll be a lifesaver. Anways, hope it helps, and good luck with it.

oh thx but I was able to complete that mission :P

I'm not at the one where you have to protect the Colossus. I have trouble breaking that Siege Laser formation... but yeah, I did what you said, difference being I could only have 2 energy cells so I went with those. Manually controlling the angel wing worked better for me. Manually controlling an entire fleet is a bit tiresome though, even with pausing the game...

Try grouping together some of your ships. Ctrl then click the ships, then hit Ctrl and a number, 1-4 to group. When going for the Siege laser formation, either go for the battleship and hit it with EVERY weapon. or go for the smaller ships. The grouping makes it so you don't have to contrl each ship individually. Going for the smaller ships, might work better for you. because they are weaker. But, destroying the Battleships make it so they can't do siege laser formation at all.

I was wondering if using the commands on the lower right was a good idea. Sometimes, I'd rather use almost all weapons on some ships so their shields drain faster. I swear, it can take up to 3-4 minutes to drain a small ship.

i have the same proble, i find most of my own ships just sitting still half the time after i give commands, except for maybe one who charges forwards on its own and gets killed...
insanely annoying.

i found how to break the siege laser on the colossus mission is first, have all ships attack the grarg(or whatever) ship that usually gets inside the fort shield, then have all the small ships (2 destroyers, 2 frigates) attack the other small ships, and have angelwing and the corvette attack the big ships.
that should get you 3 ships down before they set ut the siege laser, and at that point, have all ships attack one of the smaller ships (smalles) in the formation, and it will break.
boost all shields to 200% before you leave the fort shield.

i also usually set the ships to focused mode and direct each cannon individually and i never use lasers. those things doesn't work half the time anyway..

its easy all u gotta do is use the little destroers to take out the ship that gets inside the shield youll have to use anglewing as well of course. then have all the other ships and fighters attack the battleship fighters and gunships usually puch through shields really easy so have them target the siege laser itself and use the other ships to punch through the formation.

I’ve just found this mission incredibly annoying and after multiple iterations and weapon load out. The most successful I’ve been (only just loosing 1 ship) was by following ign walk though link below
https://www.ign.com/faqs/2005/nexus-the-jupiter-incident-walkthrough-587655

Effectively the key to this mission is power management. They recommend
“2x Energy Shell, 2x Sliver Gatling Gun, 1x Uranium Gatling Gun, 2x Laser Ring
Flak System, 2x Electron Cells, 2x Spark Fighters and add an additional L2
Fusion Support Generator”

Set weapons at 200% leave everything else of standard unless shields drop significantly then switch it up.
My tip would be to use your fighters to ONLY attack enemy fighters and then bring them home to repair etc
Target your ally’s enemy targets first to drain shields/destroy faster.
Move in close if necessary to use your flak cannons as well on enemy ships after their shields drop.

This was by far the best attempt of the mission I have done so far.

I recommend 3-4 eshells, 1x Sliver gun, and whether you ditch the scanner or not a second sliver gun or neutron torpedo.
And most definitely you don't need 2 support generators onboard your ship!
Also, the mission is supposed to play in tandem with the destroyer Chrome. Eshell the same ship as the Chrome is firing upon, and once the target's shields are down, help destroy it.
Have any of you ever finished the Raptor Raid mission on Professional Level? I have tried 30 times and i can not get through it. The Chrome gets destroyed before The Poison (enemy ship the Chrome starts firing at) can be destroyed by our combined attack, even though i use optimal weapon and fighter settings. Without the Chrome you do not last 10 min.
Any ideas?
I have gone through the game numerous time on Beginner and Experienced level, but never on professional level :)

I've passed through the Raptor Raid mission (on Pro) numerous times. It does happen I only save 1 transport, and one or two times I was destroyed. The main thing is that you survive. I just played this mission 2 times, and the second time the Chrome managed to survive and we escaped with 2 cargo ships.
The main thing is you need to coordinate your eshells on the very same ship the Chrome is firing at.
Also, usually I start flying off towards the Raptor ships and charging shields&weapons the second Chrome's captain starts its dialog. This makes you the first target for the oncoming Raptor ship, and only leaves one of the Raptors firing at the Chrome at first.
Well Well, that did it. I put the Angelwing in front and therefore took the majority of the damage. THX

2 e shells 2 silver gatling guns, shoot everything including gatling guns at the enemy with power set to 200% and target the same ship as Chrome and repeat. You can save all the transports up to experienced using this method.
