Not very useful but it allows some manual control and positioning.
You only move towards or away from things, which can also include navigation way-points you set around your zone of action. This will allow you to move towards an enemy ship, attack then break off by moving towards another point, or away from original target. The whole time your weapons and ship will function as needed or designated by your command setting: Shielded, Stealth, Aggressive, etc.
Thank you a LOT for this. I am at the mission where you have to manually navigate around enemy turrets, and that is next to impossible with the F2 and F4 commands alone.
So in order to navigate around say, a group of enemy turrets who do you manage nav points?
These outer edge Nav Points combined with a few additional Nav Points located near Objectives, or whatever you choose, can allow you to move towards targets then retreat or move off in directions away for the main area.
Such as use the upward Y Point to move "Up", Near Z Point to pull back towards your initial start, Right X Point to make any move top the rightward side of your relative position, etc.
Does that make sense? Maybe if I get a little time later I can make a very simple diagram. I personally work far better with visuals than words.
