The game was GREAT. Still incredible even now. The thing is MP won't work anymore. I was hoping they would support MP for steam but they didn't

The single player already worth buying for itself. My opinion.

Great game, just like Homeworld games, good story and gameplay, played it many many times and probably will play it many many times more.

This game has the most incredible spaceship explosion effect ive ever seen in my entire life.
It also has great graphics and soundtracks, still the best space game ive ever played.

This game is amazing. You get to be the captain of a starship. Anyway, multiplayer works if you use Hamachi or direct ip connection.

omg i can't remember the name of the ship that you get after a few missions but you will cream your pant's.

Not only is the probably the BEST space opera game ever created, it stands the test of time incredibly well in terms of graphics, game play, voice acting and story. In some ways it's hard to believe Nexus was released in 2004.

I've also installed the Battlestar Galactica mod, and it's amazing. It does not interfere with vanilla Nexus in any way -- you simply choose the BSG version of the game at launch, and you pick from a varied list of engagements and scenarios in the BSG universe. Some of them are straight-up fantasy fights, like 3 battlestars vs 3 basestars, while some are taken directly from the show. For example, there's a scenario called "The Captain's Hand" that is a recreation of Commander Garner's ill-fated tenure as CO of Pegasus, when he jumps the ship into a trap and finds himself ambushed by three basestars. (That's the episode when Lee took command in the CIC, so essentially you're playing as Lee as he tries to fend off the basestars while the FTL is repaired.)

Overall, an amazing job by the developers of Nexus and the dedicated modders who put a massive amount of effort into the BSG mod. Can't recommend this game highly enough.

It's so crazy the game was released on in 2004 and was so good i thought the reason we aint seen number 2 or at least and exspansion is the game was very over looked at the time of release i would even go as far as saying it's on par with homeworld 2, i no i no not genrally the same genre but hey.

The tactical approach is what this game makes one of a kind. It's somewhat between Homeworld and Star Wolves. Still like it more than homeworld 'cause you've got to take out shields and than there is the micro managing part with the subsystems and fighters to deploy etc.. Its such a pity that the Kickstarter for a second part failed last year (?).

yep it just didn't get enough hype.

It failed in 2012, actually. And yes, the tactical approach that this game used is still unequalled. So is the degree to which the ingame ships respected Newtonian physics.

Well, space-based sci-fi as a whole is experiencing a bit of a downturn lately. Two famous actors from the newer Battlestar Galactica TV series mention the downturn below in their respective videos--it's like the "men in charge with money" won't bankroll these productions anymore.

Mind you, I'm pretty sure that the Nexus devs could have made a pretty penny if they had made licensed games for sci-fi franchises like Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica, given how some of the ships in those franchises were designed around Newtonian mechanics. Just look at what the incredibly skilled mod team led by Jstubbles here did with BSG for Nexus:

i personally HATE multiplayer, i see no use for it, only players who need that competition crap fulfilled, i go for story and gameplay and the single player campaign gives both with alot more to spare.
