I wish i had the talent, I'm more of a project manager though, bringing people together for a goal is my thing and i'm also a writer due to my educational background in philosophy. If anyone needs any of those skills to get a mod made, I'd be happy to help

Well, too small of people interesting in this game for now. I work alone under my vision of TJI, and release my work into workshop as is, but. If you see count of subscribers... well. It seems that i doing it allmost for myself

yeah I understand. you know what inspires me?

Freespace 2 modding project, FSopen. The way they totally remade it and brought it back to life with all new textures and even higher quality sounds, it's beautiful.

Just that takes care of the fighter fix, but not so much the capital ship fix.

the people who did that are certainly in touch with the crowd who'd be all over a Nexus revitalization

Hah. FS2 is different case. All mechanics are known and it is simple to refact. Nexus and Black Sun engine is `Terra incognita`. We know many of things, but more stil unknown. And we can not grab game sources from dicompiled version due to the license. Only way, if Nordic change license for game to GPL or similar (with origianl sources),but this will not happen, i think, Becouse RAD SDK used in game

There was a fan 'Universal Conflicts' campaign (15 or so main missions with a couple additional missions according to how you play) created a couple years after the release of the game. But unfortunately it only seems to work with the CD release from 2004, not with the Steam version.

yes there is! It is called "New Conflicts". And yes, it works and I have played it on both CD and on Steam.
