Unfortunately, the loadouts are pretty messed up / bugged.
For testing ammo, I recommend building a mission in the Full Mission Builder, to be found in the main menu --> extras.

Intall those patches, it will save you A LOT of troubles!

please also bear in mind that even having sucessfully changed your loadouts as above, if you then play a single player mission the loadouts in that mission are set by the mission designer so you will not be able to use your chosen loadout there (it will however be there for your to continue to use online). the single player mission will however take your chosen convergences so at least you will have those.

i only did to test if the loadouts where changing. I made a full tracer and a no tracer loadout to see the difference, but even in multiplayer i always see default tracers come from default guns 4 and 5.
It sucks because i realy like this game, i got it a couple weeks ago and have already 60 hours in it, but this bug makes me want to move on.
Both loadouts give me the same un game effect of default tracer in guns 4 5
