IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover

IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover

Acer XC-780 Desktop
Hi All. I'm trying to setup my Steam IL-2 COD with the Acer XC-780. The aircraft seem very unstable and I don't seem to have much control at all. The aircraft do move forward ok but really just seem to "wallow" slowly in a loose sort of action. My specs are :
Windows 10
intel(R) Core(TM) i5 - 6400 cpu @ 2.70 GHZ 2.71 GHZ
Ram 8.00 GB
64 bit
(No upgrade video card)
I've been a flight simmer for a number of years now (FS2004, FSX etc) but I'm not really very computer-wise, (who is at 80 !!), and would therefore appreciate someones kind assistance.

Hi, I guess you have a joystick, but!! Do you have the team fusion patches?
prop pitch?

Thanks. Joystick, yes and I put all five patches in. I'll try the pitch on the prop, never thought of that !!

get on the atag team speak channel, the best thing u can do. even if you dont talk you can listen to action reports and get great info.

ATAG, yes I had a quick look when I picked up the patches. Attending to the prop pitch has made a difference and I now have the keys listed. My aircraft are now flying better but do not hold very steady despite much trimming of the surfaces. The usual is a slow turn to the left. Got to be the trimming really. Thanks to all. I shall go to ATAG for a closer look and of course troll the discussions here more closely.

Well, a plane wont fly perfectly straight, at least for me.

Try turning off the Anthropomorphic Control (AC) just in case.

Yes, I turned off the Anthropomorphic Control. I started out with a spitfire and then today went on to a heavier a/c, a bomber, not sure of the name but it behaved in the same way although a bit more 'slowly unpredictable' . I think what I would like to do is to get a Spitfire on the ground for a startup and to try out this and that before taking to the air. Most a/c start in the air and then one has to be pretty nimble to bring it under sort-of control. You could of course do that in the old FSX so you could give yourself a bit of advance training first. Many thanks for all assistance.
