As has been mentioned many times here, this game was not up to snuff when it was first released but, to Team Fusion, we owe a great debt for salvaging a game many of us thought we had wasted a lot of money on. The current price tag is an absolute steal for what you're getting.
I cut my teeth on Il-2 1946 which is a great game in its own right, but never at any time whilst playing 1946 did I EVER get the feeling that CloD provides. From having my heart pound through my chest as I sneak up on somone, hoping they don't spot me, to flying formation with 2 or 3 other guys looking for trouble; the total appreciation for what these lads went through in reality becomes apparent very quickly. Luckily, you get to come back from the dead, but if you can stay alive long enough to learn the same aerial combat lessons they did, you might just stand a chance yet.
The community is also great. Jump on TeamSpeak or post in the ATAG forums and ask questions. No matter how simple or basic they may seem, someone is always willing to help.
This is plainly, as immersive as it gets. Wonderful game. 10/10
