King's Bounty: Crossworlds

King's Bounty: Crossworlds

Which one to play ?
I have the whole pack, but I was wondering whether to play this version or the Kings Bounty: The Legend ?

The Crossworlds contain the same scenario but with extras ?
(Similar to playing Diablo2 with or without LoD...same first 4 acts but very different content throughout the game).

So is it similar with Crossworlds ? Maybe there is no reason to play vanilla "The Legend" ?

I modded my crossworld campaign and plays old AP to get the story. Both are a charm in it's own way. No reason and a waste of time, but I played vanilla AP more. As a old-timer with assorted copies AP, I think I can say more about that:

The Armored Princess is vanilla game and also host game needed to install the so-called Crossworld Expansion <-- do a search for this. The Cossworld campain is a seperate campain on the disk with sperficial differences as stated.

The most important different is that you are free to edit the quest, dialog, and maps to your liking with the included editor. This is to say that the Crossworld campaign encourage you to divert from the vanilla story arc and thereby content. Unlike in other editors with an edit history, the modding done to campaign exist at the top level so they are permanent and cannot be reverted even while seperately stored you can have only one working copy to edit. You can however, not edit the legacy campaign using the provided Editor. It is my understanding that you can also download mods that make mechanical changes to the world while retaining both copies (Vanilla and modded Crossworlds) at the same time. But you can still experince the vanilla version whenever you want by playing the legacy campaign.

For whatever other reasons, both the Crossoworld Expansion and legacy AP can be played sequentially and indepently. So this justified the price of the Crossworld Expanison DLC (Which I also perchased for my copy of AP), since you can have two campain for a slight investment.

For myself I prefers to use the vanilla campaign. With most games, you can play the mod or play the game. You can't play both. But here I can mod and plays the game too =)
