2017-18 data update thread

Hi all

Now that the 2017-18 player and team data is live in Sociable Soccer this is just a thread for posting any questions or discussion about it.

All players have been revised, there are 60 new clubs (promotions etc.) and close to 10,000 transfers for this update, along with updated leagues, tournaments, 2018 WC draw and so on.

NB the new season's data will be used if you play new friendlies or a new tournament; saved tournaments will still have whichever season data they were started with.

Nice! Thank you for the update.
Note that it is no longer possible to play a randomized World Cup, because the option has been replaced by he WC 2018 draw. I hope you'll restore this in the future. The most awesome would be to add randomized qualifiers for all nations as a single tournament.

It wasn't random before, last time I played it was the 2014 draw.

I've just won it with England

Belguim 3-0 win
Tunisia 2-2 draw
Panama 4-1 win
2nd round v Senegal 6-0 win
QF V Japan 2-0 win
Semi v Brazil 3-2 win
Uruguay in the final, 5-2 win

Really easy games besides the Brazil one.

My biggest issue with leagues and cups in this game is that you rarely end up playing a good team in the final, and the best rated teams in the league never push you for the title..

I did the Scottish league in Boss mode and Celtic finished 4th after being near the bottom. I usually win the league with around 6/8 games to go as everyone seems to be beating everyone. I will draw 10 and lose 7, would be a good way to make leagues harder if a couple of teams really pushed you for the title,

The CPU vs CPU results have been retuned and tested this week and should give much better results now than previous versions. I doubt you will see the Scottish league without G. Hoops on top. Cheers!

To be fair, I was playing as Glasgow Blues and won 9-1 away against Glasgow Hoops in the 3rd match of the season with Robot Overlords on. I can't imagine their confidence was too high after that. Was hilarious seeing them bottom of the table after 10 games.

Not sure CPU V CPU results have improved too much, in my World Cup I played Uruguay in the final. They beat Denmark in their semi!
