Intro not playing

Whenever I start up Myst: Masterpiece Edition, I don't get the Cyan logo or the introduction with Atrus' narration. Instead, I go straight to the Myst linking book on the floor. I started a new game up a few times, same result. Is anyone else having this problem?

Okay, it seems like none of the clips are playing. The water in the imager is not animated, and Atrus' message in the imager is not playing, I'm getting nothing out of the red & blue books.

Try using compatibility mode.

[whatever drive you have it on C for most people] -> Program Files [It might be Program Files (x86)] - Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Myst. That could be entirely wrong depending on where you installed it to, but basically you have to find the Myst folder. Within that folder, find the application. It should end in .exe. Right-click it and select properties. Click on the compatibility tab, try setting it to win xp service pack 3, if that does not fix the problem also try vista and me. Windowed mode also can help.
