Does anyone want to see a modern HD remake of these games?
Every game in the series looked and played great when they originally came out, but time and technology hasn't been kind to them. I think it would be neat if Cyan or whoever owns the games now would release a version utilizing the latest graphics, and make sure that it's able to maintain compatability for years to come. Who's with me?

I would love somrhing like an HD remake collection of all the myst games, heck I would pay upwards around $80 if that existed.

Definitely. I played the original Myst when I was younger with my dad and it was one of the most immersive games I've played to date. I got the Cyan pack a couple months ago and I relived that time with some background knowledge of the game. Would definitely like to see a modern remake provided the lore remains intact and the puzzles aren't dumbed down (although the decreasing intelligence of gamers would almost demand it).

Seeing HD remakes of the Myst series, and Uru, would be amazing. Riven, of all the games, probably needs an HD remake least, considering its graphical quality in relation to the year of release. Nonetheless, an HD remake of it with modern graphical capabilities, and perhaps free-roaming movement like realMyst and Myst 5, would still be beautiful.

It's worth noting that realMyst already has an 'HD remake' of sorts, for the iPad. I haven't played it, as I don't have an iPad, but it looks absolutely beautiful compared to the older computer version.

As much of a fan that I am of the point and click charm of the original Myst paradigm, I would freakin love to see the Uru treatment on all of the other games, like Myst III-V and even some new content. Cyan really has a talented group of game creators.

As much as I love the myst franchise, I don't see this happening. First and foremost, Cyan is basically broke, have been for some years now. The have remade Myst, Riven and Real Myst for the Ipad and the have mad a couple of android apps as well (nothing to do with myst). None of which make them a ton of money. Myst Online is only kept open through the donations of the players. Even if they did start to see a substantial profit in the future, I don't see them remaking current games, at least not for the pc. Personally, I would like to see them do something new, something myst-like without being Myst.

There is a side group, known as the Starry Expanse Project that are attempting to remake a 3d, free-roaming version of Riven. They were, in fact, given Cyans blessing at this years Mysterium. You can follow their progress here: http://www.starryexpanse.com/

Note that this has been multi-year project and will likely be going for the forseeable future.
(these opinions are my own, based on input I have recieved/read from Cyan and observations of them over several years)

God yes! I would buy it full price. How ever I would love instead of just a remake a bran new game.

Got to disagree. They are no longer photorealistic, as tehy were once considered, but they still look good, if obviously dated.

That would be the whole point of having a complete remake. They would redo the game's environments in a photorealistic style, one that wouldn't be so boxy and polygonal. Heck, I could see someone making the game in Source, seeing how that's one of the best-looking FPS engines for animation which is still flexible enough to do a classic adventure game.

They actually remade the first one for 3DS, but it basically looks like a straight port of realMyst

I own PC versions of the games and never got to play them before the computers became obsolete (ie, too damn slow and too little memory). Thought they would play on Win-XP or Win7 in Comp mode or whatever; but DO NOT. :-( So, I'm hoping the Steam version at least will allow me to play them. Are graphics blocky or dated? Yes; but some of us are old enough to have played Cave Adventure (original version of Zork) where it was text only!!! You had to use your mind to 'see' the worlds!

Believe it or not, there's actually a team working on a real-time version of Riven. Their answer to Cyan's lack of a "realRiven" game.

Not sure if it's going to be an HD-compatible version, though...

Zork!!! I remember those! I played cave adventure and various versions of it when I was growing up. Zork later made some decent point and click versions that weren't too bad...Grand inquisition, Nemesis and one I can't remember the title of. I remember needing to find matches to warm my hands to milk a cow to get a thermozz of milk without the cow kicking me into next tuesday. (for having cold hands).

Is that Uru thing still going? I remember playing that in single player mode because I had no connection. It would be nice to try that the way it was intended.
