Report a translation problem
Try verifying the game cache;
Right-click on the game in your Steam library, select properties, select the local files tab, and click “Verify Integrity of game cache”.
Play around more with the compatability mode settings, xp sp 2 seems to be work best for most people. Try also "Disable Visual Themes" if you have that option.
Try isolating it to one processor
1. Under Steam Libraries Right click realMyst
2. Select Properties
3. Set Launch options
4. Type /affinity 1 (Affinity 1 is core 0 Affinity 2 is core 1 You can choose which ever one you want)
5. Select Ok
It is possible that an update to windows could have thrown it off in which case try a complete re-install while backing up saves
For reinstalling;
First right click on the game in the Steam Library, select properties, select the local files tab, click “BACKUP GAME FILES”. Afterward click on “delete local game content” either in the tab or the right click menu.
