Oh no! Giant! achievement

For the love of god, how do you freaking stop the Sun Gaint from getting to your gold mine so easily. Every time I try, the thing is already near my base. I use the Poison spell you get but I am still having trouble with this. Any ideas?

That's indeed a tough achievement. Here's my strategy:

Poison spell alone is not enough, you also need an army of those ranged units. Their darts are poisonous too, and it slows the giant down, so build them nonstop.

Also, as soon as the map starts go sacrifice all caged units except the miners. Immediately. First, because you'll need the mana anyway for non-stop Poison, and second and most important: so your ranged dartsmen don't waste any time attacking the cages to set them free. You want your units to go ASAP to the Giant, the sooner the better.

If you need more mana and can handle the micromanagement, sacrifice a unit attacking the Giant right before it pounds the ground.

TL;DR: Destroy all warrior cages immediately, build dart warriors non-stop, cast Poison non-stop.

I didn't buy the sacrifice ability because those cages slow the giant down and i could get my dartsmen out earlier, but it was still a close call. And just buy dartsmen every time you get a chance.
