Imagine Call of Duty where you mainly use a sniper rifle and a really bad machine gun all done in 3rd person camera. I can't recommend this game based solely on that but if that's what you like, then this may be for you. Essentially, the game has too many problems for me to have enjoyed it much: scripted events (what's that, you spent the last 10 minutes carefully picking off each soldier silently? Well, we'll just throw in a load of soldiers out of no where for fun...), switches quickly between stealth and guns blazing, awful AI that runs around like headless chickens, psychic AI that knows where you always are, NPCs that popup on trigger events, more linear than it wants to believe it is, secondary explosives that are really useful ... in the tutorial and very few other places (anyone else planted a mine on a guard in the rest of the game? No, me neither), bad hit detection, terrible level design and the NPC character models are quite jerky, making them difficult to hit on the move.
It's not a bad game, just not what I wanted from it although some of the game design seems a little lazy. It almost feels like they wanted to make some big open levels then ran out of time. I'd like to have seen this game in first person view, bigger, more open levels with a lot less scripting.
Fulfill your dream of being a lone wolf sniper, just don't expect the game to loosen the leash much.
