Not worth 50USD
Not bashing the game, just the price point. Let's look at the following..

It touts itself as a "realistic" sniper game. This is about as true as the Call of Duty franchise claiming any sort of realism outside of visual effects.

With ballistics on realism setting, the rifle is zeroed at no distance whatsoever. This means the moment the projectile leaves the weapon it begins to drop. This is only accurate in technicality. It should rise to the point of impact at a specified distance, then begin to drop.

What does this mean? If you have realistic ballistics turned on, you will hit low at 100 meters! You will hit low at 50 meters! In short, this is nonsense.

The game is a graphical novelty. It's fun briefly. Not 50 dollars fun, however. You shoot at people and gawk at the gorey detail in which they become brutally disemboweled, that's about the extent of fun you'll get from this.

Graphics 10/10
Historical/Realistic Accuracy 2/10
Fun 4/10
Replay Value 1/10

Not a recommended purchase and only a good successor to Sniper Elite in the graphical improvements and fluid game play mechanics.

I'd gladly pay twice the asking price if it could deliver at least a 7 out of 10 in all points.

Far from being the most realistic so far.

Succeeded by

Sniper Elite
Armed Assault/Op Flashpoint
Oddly, JFK Reloaded.
Countless other underdogs

..i have to stick with Gorby on this one.. SEv2 is "just for fun" and worth maybe $15 bucks. SE1 was infact better sometimes where you had to crawk up to a tank, place a dynamite and pull back. Now its to easy.. Just hit the fuelcap. A good thing with the 1'st game was also that you sometimes wore German uniform to more easy slip by the sentries..

Might be worth 15 if the developers thought you should at least know what the graphic and game settings do? Rushed out the door so fast the ink on the manual hadn't even dried. Matter of fact they didn't even get the ink on the manual.

You must have a retail version of the game. The steam version is a couple of pages. If you feel charitable how bout typing out the explantation for the graphic settings , please.

@Abraxus
I dont think you got it.
57 Pages, Blank, No Ink

I assumed you also were kidding. If you are having a problem with graphic settings
What then do you need to know. There kind of simple, it will depend on the video
card that you have installed and what it can handle.

You can also check at the Sniper Elite V2 Forum

The one setting I can't really figure out is what they mean by "Use Compute Shaders".

The Compute Shader-enabled will result in a nicer balance
Your Video card will need to be able to support this option.
Compute Shader will give you better image quality and
improved performance. As in Depth of Field (blurred background)
and HDR Bloom (broader lights).
If your Card will support it try it on or off and see which you like better.

I was wondering the same thing about this option, thanks for the info.

I got this game for $19.99 @ Walmart. Is there a difference from the $49.99 Steam version?
