You will find a keyboard with a mouse will work far better than a controller. My nephew has the x-box version of SEv2,and a PC running 32-bit windows 7,and he says since he just started running the computer 2 weeks ago,he has switched to the PC version of the game.PERIOD.
i play with the xbox 360 control on PC.!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you can do it. There are two ways to play SE v2 with a controller.
1) original Xbox 360 controller works out of the box (install drivers first, and activate controller in game's menu)
2) any other controller (with analog sticks) will work with this emulator http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/
Configure the pad in analog mode.
Ii am using a noname PS2 controller and this emulator works with every game that supports Xbox360 controller.

A ton of vids how to configure a NON Xbox 360 pad

It is not hard, believe me. Videos will explain a lot if not all.

Ehhh dude. It is hard not to offend you.
OP asked for help and you tell him "NO, you want the wrong thing. You must not do it. Do what I say because my solution is the only one."

If OP wants to play the game with his ♥♥♥♥ / her vagina - let it be. Why would it bother you?
Especially since she/he stated she/he was a console gamer, so she/he will enjoy the game more with the gamepad.

SE v2 plays good with controller. I tested it. It is slower and less accurate but for single player it is good enough.

I think he asked for info about using a controller not you're Nephew and what he plays on so you're comment is invalid.PERIOD.
I too would like to know this. I am a large PC gamer, and even build and program computers. But I recently bought a gaming controller, though I already have an expensive gaming mouse. I just want to know how to get it to work. Thanks to who ever helps me.
Thank you man...I didn't see that cause of a popup window in middle of scrolling. Sorry to irritate you.
Well, I did what the video said and it didn't work. But thank you for telling me about this. I will figure it our some how.
That is what I did. It just doesn't render my controller as being there when I go into the game and click on options.
no...i have never even heard of that
you just plug it in and the game sets it up the moment you use it (plug and play)

I have plugged it in, and it doesn't do that. I spent a lot of money on the controller...so I think I will jsut give up.
On the Intro to the game,it clearly says " partial controller support" so I haven't tried it yet.I've been working and building PC since 1992,But I a new-be when it comes to X-BOX( which I don't have) but I do have a Playstation 2.

Then read what partial support means. It has nothing to with pad not working in game.

Building one computer since 1992!?! I am 14 and have built 10+ computers. And know more about them than the Dell and Century Link technicians did when my dad called them to fix his internet and computers. Also, that "partial controller support" allows you to fully control your player with what you need to do (aim, scope, fire, etc.), so I wonder what your understanding of this is.

Nope. You are wrong about Partial Controller Support.
