Option 2 is cheaper and easier.
The irony is that the symbols used to replace swastikas are also used by modern neo-fascist groups in Germany!
It is ironic isn't it that nazi germany were into operssion and censorhip and now we have games being censored ..
Thats the way here in Europe, left is good, everything not left is right wing fascist-nazi. There is nothing between. "Antifacism" turns into the new facism.
The Iron Cross (actually the "Black Cross", the Iron Cross is a military award) was used by the Wehrmacht. Its not (just) the symbol of the Bundeswehr, it goes way back, to the Ordo Teutonicus (Deutschritterorden), and was revived by the Prussians later, and overtaken by the German Army after the founding of Germany (1871). But without a doubt most people know it from pictures of tanks and planes of the Wehrmacht and the Luftwaffe.
There are region filters, just look next time, when you buy a game you have to confirm your nationality. And World at War was heavily censored in Germany, 1) all Nazi Symboles had to be removed, 2) Quite some violent scenes got removed, including all executions of prisoners and the entire nazi zombie mode
I think the changes are so severe that owners of the german version cant play with owners of the international version.

and my uncensored textures http://mavoxofiwp.1fichier.com/
First part, extraction.
Extract quickbms somewhere of your choice.
Now you need to go to your "Sniper Elite V2/envs" folder and copy TheBlob.pc_textures to the quickbms folder. Rename "TheBlob.pc_textures" to "TheBlob.pc".
Now use quickbms_4gb_files.exe, and when ask, open "asura.bms". Then open "TheBlob.pc" and press the save button.
After a while, normally the program have extracted a folder named "graphics". Delete it, and replace it with my "graphics" folder (it's located in uncensored flags.rar).
Ok, now the last part, the reimport.
Press the "windows" symbol in your keyboard and search for "cmd.exe". Run it.
Now type the drive letter where your "quickbms" is located and ":"
Example : "D:"
Now type "cd" and the adresse of your quickbms folder.
Example : cd D:\documents\progs\quickbms
And finally, type "quickbms_4gb_files -w -r asura.bms TheBlob.PC".
If all went right, 2 files will be reimported.
Now rename "TheBlob.PC" to its original name "TheBlob.pc_textures" and replace it in your game folder (in Sniper Elite V2/envs).
I highly recommend to do a backup of your original "TheBlob.pc_textures" just in case.
Thats all, don't really worth the waste of time, but it's up to you.
Oh and I think, zalterdedbeastz forgot to mention that asura.bms has to be downloaded aswell. I found it with a simple google search.
As for our legislation concerning nazi symbols, it's really ridiculous. Firstly, movies are regarded as art and games not. Secondly, it's good that neo-nazis aren't allowed to display swastikas for purposes of propaganda but in games, plastic models and the like, it's just dumb!
