If you enjoy watching bullets tear through the internal organs of Nazis in slow motion, good news! Sniper Elite 3 is in the works for release on PC, current consoles, and next-gen gameboxes in 2014, publisher 505 Games announced today. While last year's Sniper Elite V2 was Rebellion remaking the original snipe 'em up, this time it's a proper shiny new game, going a bit more sandbox-y.

Rebellion wants to make Sniper Elite 3 "more of a sandbox game" and "build on the awesome X-Ray Kill Cam," CEO Jason Kingsley said in today's announcement. "We've got some great ideas to improve on what we did before and feedback from fans has been invaluable."

SE3 still revolves around Karl Fairburne shooting men in the face from a distance during World War II, and the little "Afrika" in its logo would suggest that, you know, he's visiting Africa.

PC is the only platform formally confirmed so far, though it's likely that it'll follow Sniper Elite V2's trail and release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 too. A Wii U version of V2 is coming this summer, so we'll have to see if that does well enough to warrant a release of 3 too. Beyond that, the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's mysterious new console seem safe bets.

Rebellion released a standalone co-op zombie-hunting version of Sniper Elite only last month.

this is nice to see, i thought Sniper Elite V2 was a great game considering how underated it was.

Can't wait to play SE3....LOL
I'm curious about the maps/missions and the guns. Hopefully we'll get more and better silenced guns as well 'cause all Special Forces during WW2 had alot of nice weaponry.
Also hope that the Coop mode will be accessible for 4 players (or more) like in NZA, instead of only 2.
If Rebellion wants feedback from fans/players, maybe we can make some sort of "special topic" for that. :)))

I just hope that all the Achievements aren't restricted to 4 players only in co-op like in NZA too? They should give 2-4 players Achievements. It's harder as you go up in team numbers.

I can't wait. :D

Yeah, so do I. I just don't understand why can't plalyer be awarded achievos/rank postion with tougher requirements. RAGE is a good example - Coop achievos require 2 ppl, but can play those missions only by yourself. If you want achievos you have to play with another person. The weird thig is the game warns you that playing coop mission solo is harder, so it is more challengeing, but at the same time it warns that you won't get achievos. (all that info is one one warning screen before mission starts) Logic? NONE.
All coop achievos should be awardable even if you play solo. Another human just makes it easier.

I think all of them should have been given to those who finished it in SP for SE:NZA and my reason is, imo, is that, it was actually created as a Co-Op mission and not mainly for SP.

The problem with the Coop mode AND the achievements in NZA is the instability of the steam connection during the game. My friends and I have tried several times to play NZA in Coop mode with 4 players, but halfway the game 2 or 3 players got disconnected. As this happens 2-3 times in a row it discourages people to try again, so....
If there is no special topic yet for our feedback/new ideas to Rebellion, maybe we should make one.

I agree, I've sort of just stopped playing NZA. I can't do crap in game but, shoot, and miss because, before the bullet gets to it's target it's moved and someone else has shot it. If I get close to another player, I'm like in suspended animation. Zombies just pop up out of nowhere, right next to me even after the whole area has been cleared. I can shoot and hit them in the head, 3x's to no avail. Like I said, I've pretty much stopped playing it, especially in MP. I finished all of it, on every level in SP and I doubt that I'll ever finish it in all levels in MP. Most of the achievements I have left to get, I need to do with 4 players. No fun for me.

Scoring is not correct, either. Me and another player were playing and he was showing me how to get some extra kills and I would see an instant flash of like, 44 for 1 and the score I'd recieve would be 4 for 1. It's a shame that all video games don't have a bult in replay program. I'm not talking about any kill shot replay or, your death reply for only a second or two. I mean, the whole level replay.

Sometimes, if my friends and I are playing SEV2 or NZA I record it (especially when we are fooling around or when we try to set a new kill record) and upload it here on steam. Check my vids. Older vids are already deleted and I need to delete alot screens as well 'cause it takes ages to load my steam.
In one of my last attempts in NZA I only got the 73615 points for the kill but no body count!!!
That was pretty f...d up 'cause we were wondering what the treshold would be for that particular kill. We tried it a few more times but the only you get are different body counts/points but never an accurate count.
I still haven't got all the achievements in NZA but I never made a serious effort to get them. For me having fun together with other players was the most important thing. In some of my vids you can see how "serious" we sometimes play :) That's how I like play...
It's a pitty we don't have the shotgun and the double barrel Preacher in SEV2. It would be awesome to use it in Multiplay :)))

I think I need to delete some of my screens as well. Steam takes forever to open for me.

If developers would change SEV2 into a FPS for PC gamers and include all the options/possibilities as in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 as well, then it would be the best game ever released. GRAW2 is an old game but many people still play it, including me.
That game has alot of options that modern games don't have anymore.
The GRAW2 dedicated servers are controled with the TC Admin application which can give you almost full control to the game. Kick and ban people from the server is very easy and even a permanent ban is also possible.
So, if they would come up with "a game that has it all"..., it should be like that.
Anyway..., pc gamers can do more than console gamers. We can hook up consoles if we want to, but not the other way around.

In my opinion, I'd never buy Sniper Elite if it was only a first person. Never.

This...if rebelion change SE3 to fps it will be another crapy wanabe "sniping game " like SGW...no thanks.

I like it the way it is now and if the new is like this one, that's all that matters to me. All I'm looking forward to is something new and a different story that comes with new maps. I don't even care about new weapons, these seem to be doing the job quiet well. ;)

I would like to see a better server set up though.

Totally agree! They should stay in third person!
