DLCs and whether they're worth it or not...
So I just finished the regular campaign which I had split over the past few days.

And it's been fun and totally worth it! The only thing that actually annoyed me were the extremely repetitive phrases from the enemy soldiers. ("Er ist hier irgendwo!")

But the sniping and the amazing bullet and x-ray kill cam made up for everything, and that's what really counted for me.

So then I was looking at the DLCs and, with some hesitation, I decided to try the Sniper Elite V2 - Kill Hitler + 2 Rifles one for 6.99 EUR ($9.63 USD). I couldn't care less about the weapons but I thought another mission would be fun.

The description reads:
As the Thousand Year Reich collapses, you have received intelligence that Adolf Hitler is returning to Berlin on board his personal train. Intercept it as it waits at the station. One brief opportunity to do what so many wish had been done – Kill Hitler!

Alright, so I started the mission and spawned at the train station. I walked up the hill right next to it, and killed a few soldiers on the way up. Then Hitler and some soldiers arrived near the train station. Hitler was hiding and the soldiers were killed by me, along with a few more waves of soldiers that arrived. Then, Hitler was running towards the train and was shot by me. The end.

Yeah, that's all, basically a few waves of soldiers to kill. The whole mission took me about 15 minutes. I don't think that's worth 10 bucks. I assume it's similar with the other DLCs?

As I said, I've really enjoyed the game but this DLC felt like a rip-off to be honest. ._.

Have you tried plating co op or multiplayer ?

Good tip ....yes it does seem like ppl are paying too much for this DLC. think i will pass on download.
The co-op is fun with friends, I found the multiplayer very difficult to see enemy.

Oh by the way just wanted to add, that the game concept is excellent and I probably will get next release of it. This game does need more missions.

Actually, the 3 others DLC offer you different missions. These are wide-open maps, if you're familiar to the first Sniper Elite game, meaning you can do the same mission over and over again, without doing the same thing, or going the same way. It's going apart from the whole campaign and the Hitler DLC. It's basically a rip-off indeed, for that Hitler DLC. Most players pay for the thrill to kill the guy. In the maps, creativity at its most, it's great. Being aware of your surroundings never had any sense in this game until these open maps DLCs. Not to mention the new weapons you can bring in all game modes.

I really enjoyed St-Pierre for the entire village at your disposal, dubbed with challlenging achievements to do. I liked the Landwehr Canal for a big complex map, where enemy number is high and where you could mess up a very important nazi meeting. I enjoyed the Neudorf Outpost for it has the only mission objective not kill-related. Basically, a lost fuel dump in a land, a small town and a big city.

They're good. Hitler is just for Hitler. And the weapons I enjoyed playing the campaign again through. Different feeling.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Yes, I've tried co-op and multiplayer but I considered this to be a singleplayer adventure for me to begin with, and it did a good job on that.

From what you're describing, the other DLCs might not be as disappointing, and they're half as expensive too.
Right now I'm rather considering checking out the first Sniper Elite (which I haven't played) than getting any of those DLCs, though.

And I'm definitely looking forward to playing the third part whenever it'll be released.

Only reason I bought it was because it was only $7.50 at the time

Just watch out for the SEv1.The mines and tripwires are just like the real world items !!! They are just as deadly to you as to the enemy.SEv2 some how got friend or foe mines and tripwires about 25 years too early.Plus there are no"easy" assist missions. If you can find a copy of Bradley Games Guide to Sniper Elite V1,GET IT !!! It will explain wind driff of bullets, bullet drop, and all the other info which SEv2 didn't explain. My copy has been used so many times, that its now in a loose leaf notebook with all the pages in clear plastic holders, all in the right order.

try and get into the multiplayer side of the game as its brilliant and still populated with a great bunch of people.
DLC was hit n miss as i was not keen on Hitler or even St Pierre, however google them as you will get them so cheap now and Neudorf outpost is brilliant online.

DLCs are solid, but they are just more of the same. Not worth regular price.
OH, you don't buy stuff outside sale. DLCs are always overpriced - that's the nature of things.

I bought the DLC of off GamersGate when they were 66% off and it was a "buy 4 pay 3" offer. I would NOT pay full price for them. The Hitler DLC while the most expansive is also the worst, the shortest and the most boring one.
The other DLC have some replay value since they are open enough to offer different ways to reach their mission goal.

This was my sleeper hit of last year. All of the dlc is fantastic too. I played through the sp campaign twice. Great price for a great game!

I bought all four, played the three that aren't "kill hitler" once each and played "kill hitler" 1000+ times. I still kill him at least twice a week.
