infinite ammo you say ? But it's one of the game's interesting things where you need to econome on ammo and choose targets. In CS you almost never run out of ammo, but in AS you have always keep an eye on ammo.

After completing each official and custom map 100500 times on all difficulties you start getting a bit bored. Server mods provide nice alternative to original gameplay and don't require clients to download and install anything. They bring something new. The most popular server mods are Ch1ckenscoop, ASBI or ASB2.

As you see it from the video at homepage Rifle Mod doesn't make the game easier. It's harder, challenging and fun.
Would you mind sharing how you did this?

This can actually be done to work like the L4D works where free slots are taken by bots and when new player joins the game he takes control of a bot.

Are you interested in source code for this?
If you don't mind then yeah I'd be interested :D

- Bots are now added by default for free slots
- Enhanced "Drop-in" feature. The newly joined player have to press left mouse button to control bot. Press right mouse button to spectate next marine.
- Added asw_afk console command. When used you leave your marine and AI(bot) takes control over it. When you are ready to play you can press left mouse button.
- Extra item and secondary ammo regeneration only for Onslaught mode now

Servers: House of Pain #6.2

Actually bots are pretty good and you can easily do Insane Onslaugh with them. Just give them proper orders to "GO" or "STOP". They don't die from infestation. Also notice that bots are stuck when Mortar shoots his grenades. You need to kill Mortar fast or stun it with Tech Marine's Prototype rifle.

You can complete the entire campaign with bots. You can also complete many of custom maps but note that many of them have navigation issues and you will have to switch to bots(F2..) to move them through some blind areas or jump down. Campaigns that have no navigation problems:

I really enjoy your work. We've just completed the Biogen Labs in about 20minutes
on hard onslaught. I think we would've been able to do it on insane too. Navigating
the bots worked well. And I absolutely like the drop in feature.

yeah, Biogen Labs is pretty good and hard mission for Rifle Mod. In general missions that have infinite spawners are particularly hard. As an example some of City 17 and Dead City missions.

I will be balancing the mod further, will try to prevent Smart Bomb spam. And will introduce the "Carnage" mode, which allows the leader to increase the amount of aliens on the map(if it's doable).

I'm also trying to find a good sound file for Assault Rifle to make it more epic :)

It's more important than ever to stay close and be on your toes covering each other.
There are plans, sounding good in your head, that should stay there. Even just
running some steps ahead to place an incendiary mine or tesla coil. City 17
was a prime example for that. The fun of learning things the hard way. :)

I never thought about smartbomb spam, but then again, we had quiet the
formidable random team, one marine of every class, each with a different
extra, only our tech with a smartbomb and this one smart bomb had
to counter some suicidal tendencie, more than it would be used for
advancing. But I can see how four smartbombs could be quiet
imbalanced, if they're used in a way, that one is always available
thorugh coordinted regeneration.

I'm looking forward for the epic sounding assault rifle. ;)
