Portal 2 Help

I just bought Portal 2 yesterday, and it kept crashing when P-body and Atlas or GLaDOS and Chell appear in the loading screen. It says: "Portal2.exe has stopped working,Windows is looking for a solution for the problem."Anyone know how to fix it?

It is normally a good idea to verify the integrity of the file cache when you are having problems. You can do this by right-clicking the game, selecting "properties", "local files" and then "verify integrity..."

This isn't guaranteed to solve the problem but it may well do.

I did that. 4 times. It didnt do anything.

Did the problem get solved?? If so, could you please tell me how to fix it.. I'm having the exact same problems when I start up Portal 2.

I recently got a lot of that computer-crashing stuff, but that was mainly because of updates.
