Is it possible to friend someone randomly in Co-Op and then finish it with them ingame?

Or do you have to friend someone who never even touched it and invite them to get it?

Or can you friend someone in random, but since they didn't finish the Calibration Course, you can leave and then invite them to finish it properly?




Oh, and is there anyone that can help me get this if possible? My steam username is "Dain_Underfoot" and I'm going to be on for awhile this month.
