Portal 3 wont come out beacause there is no solid story go on since the main character leaves in 2, and portal 2 still is relatively new.

Look, if the delvelopers don't want to start making the game leave them be. With the editor in the Portal 2, there is still much life left in the game. Just be patient and wait for some news.
