Easy to make maps?

So I'm extremely new to Portal 2, meaning I just bought it during the sale and it's installing now, and I was wondering if it is easy to make maps/chambers for others like I see on the Steam workshop? And by easy I mean is there an interface in game to create chambers?

Yes, the map editor is very simple.
