And what would the story be? They can't use Chell, she's been through enough already. Using another test subject to run the test chambers? That'd be Portal 1 all over again. Wheatley's adventures in space? That'd be funny, but I don't think so.
The only thing they could do is sent Atlas and P-Body outside to harvest humans, if there are any humans left (50,000 years is a pretty long time), but the outside world is not portal compatible, and there's a reason why the game is called "Portal", so there goes that possibility as well.
Atlas and P-body harvest humans? Me thinks someone didn't finish the Portal 2 co-op =D
Also, where was it stated that it's 50k years after the first game?
I'd say CS:GO is CS2. That's the point, if they change anything major, it won't be CS anymore, so that's all they can do for this series. Nothing to innovate in order to call it CS2.
