does this game run on windows 8
just though i would ask because i would have to update my bios on my main, and i dont want to risk destroying my computer, and i have ran a test, portal will play smoothly on this, i just need to know about the OS

Not hating. Just telling the honest truth. Windows 7 is way better, I don't even use it.

I HAVE WINDOWS 7, but i dont want to update bios, so im asking ppl who have tried to run this, or can run this on their windows 8 machies, stating once again, if u know what you are talking about, or if you have tried this, please inform me. also i have been using windows 8 for a while, and all i have noticed is that it is windows 7 plus. so drop it their.

I've installed steam on a windows 8 laptop and everyhing seemed to work. I tried the original Half Life and it worked. I don't see why Portal 2 wouldn't work as long as you have the proper system requarments.

ok thank you, now looking at it, most games arnt as strict on the software, so yes thank you, i will download it on my computer and try it then. so ill probably respond to this forum and tell you how it went either tommarow or the following day.

I just switched to Windows 8 myself and ALL my games have run on it no prob, including 5 different valve games. Not sure why people hate on 8 so much, if you just go into desktop mode its exactly the same as windows 7.

I'm using Windows 8 and Portal 2 works. In fact, every single program/game that i had on 7 works on 8.

Yes, Fotomik is right. Portal 2 and every other games work on Windows 8. The reason for this because the way files work in Windows 8 is fairly similar to Windows 7.

i only got the portal demo and its working as fine on 8 as it did on 7. the desktop and start menu take some adjuating, but windows 8 isnt a horrible thing. Waffle, you need to not be so narrowed minded about computer software and be more open to newer ideas.

go to www.systemrequirementslab.com, or something like that, and it will get your specs and tell you if you can run a game or not

i have windows 8 and it works great all games that run on windows 7 will run on windows 8
