Co-op Splitscreen Controller Errors?
I'm running local splitscreen with two USB XBox 360 controllers on Mac OS X 10.6 by using the XBox 360 Controller Drivers from http://tattiebogle.net. It works great, except the 2nd player controller acts like some of its buttons are mapped to 1st player still. e.g. pulling 2nd player right trigger fires the right trigger portal for 1st player, trying to high-five or wave or whatever only brings up the quick menu for first player, etc. I can change the config for the controllers within the game to make the shoulder buttons fire portals instead, but it would be nice to be able to fix all of them.

I was using the classic hacks to run splitscreen before the patch, so I played around in the .cfg files a bit, but returning to the original joy_config files doesn't seem to make a difference. Can't figure out why this is happening. Any suggestions?

Similar issue on OS X 10.7 (no config modifications).
Right sholder for player 2 triggers right sholder for player 1 :( (no other issues AFAIK).
Do you know how to fix it?

Same here. (OS X 10.7.5; Exe version 2.0.0.1 (portal2); Exe build: 13:38:25 Mar 20 2013 (5247)). Not only right shoulder, also the D-pad-options (signs/gestures) of player two triggers the equivalent events for player one.
Especially the inability to shoot one of the portals really ruins the whole experience. I do hope there is some fix for this problem!

Try to open support case with Valve (not sure how can it be done).
I give up on split screen for mac :(
But can help in testing if needed.

After much delay, Steam support revealed to me:

Hello Michael,

At this time, games available on Steam do not directly support controllers on the Mac platform.

While some Bluetooth controllers may connect directly, they may be limited in Big Picture or game functionality.

There may be a way to configure a controller to emulate keyboard and mouse function or other controllers, as mentioned in the following thread:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14966009&postcount=28

Note: This method is not supported, but may provided the desired functionality.

Additionally, there may be third-party software to allow various controllers and configurations to function on a Mac.

The linked post suggests using tattiebogle (which I already have installed) and ControllerMate, which might help but would require a non-trivial app purchase and probably some trial and error to get working right.

So, I also give up for now. I wish the game wouldn't offer the option (at least not without a warning) if they know it doesn't actually work on Mac. I did mention that on the support ticket as well...
