Most of the time I get no error, but when I do get an error, I get the top one I have listed, followed by this one.
Also I have tried playing on different video settings (I feel like that GTX 670 should allow me to play maxed, though).
I dunno if this is the same as in the OP's case, but when this issue happens to me it crashes Steam entirely, not just Portal 2. The other difference is that I make it 5 minutes tops before crashing, rather than 10-20. I've asked Steam Support for some help on the matter but they were completely unhelpful--I described the issue clearly in my email and said I had tried reinstalling and verifying the game cache, and over the course of several emails they merely asked me to do those two things before giving me a non-answer along the lines of "the game doesn't meet your computer's specs".
I've even lowered the game to its lowest settings and still experience the issue, bafflingly.
