Portal 2 Black screen (different from thundershocks post)

so i am able to load the game just fine, so i start playing the singleplayer it loads everything smooth so far but after its done loading all i get is a black screen, but it isnt frozen i can still hear everything and even see my cross hairs and when the game tells me to look up it shows the arrow pointing up and if i look up it continues on, but all i see is black, i tried reinstalling but that didnt work, is it because my graphics card isnt good enough?

i have the same problem, and i have no idea how to help you.
it might be you dont have enough RAM

never mind i found a way to fix it!(i think, cuz i haven't tried it yet, but other people say it works!)
go to 'options',
'enable console',
press the thing above tab(`)(called a grave)
type in:mat_postprocess_enable 0
hit enter,
and it should work!
